Fair enough, I dont know much about the effects of magnitism on the body, I guess there must be some effect, be it positive or negative, but yeah, agree, they need to scientifically prove this to save their product in my opinion.

Personally I think they will just let it fade away, like "pet rocks" these fads have a short life, they probably knew it, and made hay while the sun shone - time for them to retire to the Caymans and laze in the sun I think. :D

Anyone who has had an MRI will know that not a hell of a lot happens to your body when it is INSIDE ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL MAGNETS ON EARTH. What is one stupid little one on your wrist going to do? There are not enough magnetic trace elements in your body to do anything unless the magnetic field is created with the electromagnetic output of a small country. I've seen scientists levitate a frog with magnetism but the field was unbelievably strong.

Wood, trees, look, see, fella's...

There's a saying that "fantastic claims require fantastic evidence"... none of this is in any way scientific.

I hope "The Break" manages to sell his Power Balance franchise... :)

i have had the opportunity to speak to people on both sides of the claim, and from my experience i have seen them work and not work.

i know this is probably going to open a can of worms but having no scientific proof, and by that i mean proof that can be substantiated by science and math rather than a persons experience.

i honnestly think it is a snake oil marketing ploy that has made the company more money than i think we would all like to admit is possible from spinning a few good stories but my opinion doesn't really count for much.

  •
  • i have worn a PB bracelet and for me i saw no effect whatsoever, my oppinion is that it is a rubber band as per the opinion of most of the hubbers.
  • from the other side of the coin i have physically seen a result, note i must admit it was more than likely a psychological effect rather than a physiological effect but when i first got my bracelet i went cycling with my girlfriend and a friend of hers that has not cycled since getting pregnant almost 2 years ago, hence a bit of fear and very unstable on the bike, riding to slowly to get enough "keep me upright" motion going, due to this she fell more often that i can remember, as a joke i said she should take my bracelet as it was supposed to help with balance, as sure as i sit here at the moment she had the bracelet on she stopped falling.
  • admittedly this is no proof but for her it "worked", a placebo effect perhaps and more than likely a psychological aid more than anything else but is that not kind of the point?
  • in an emergency a person can, thanks to adrenalin, do things we all wish we could, pick up that car, jump 30ft between buildings etc, if the drug/hormone gives the "know i can" effect is it not perhaps a good point that some people are going to "think they can" and there for "believe they can" and in some instances do. a waste of money for most perhaps but if you believe it works and for you it does, despite the lack of proof, who cares!!

i know it makes no difference but after some thought this is my humble 200000000000000000 zim dollars worth.

I've got a magnet on my fridge door that my son struggles to pull off...

I've been following the local T4 pro balance group on facebook. Also been posting up links directed to exposing this product for what it is. The longest my posts or links stayed up before being removed was a few hours. Many others also posted queries especially questionig the Power balance scenario in Australia. Over the last few days there were many people questioning the bracelets. I see about 1 hour ago they have changed the group settings not allowing any members to post content on this group page.

I think the owners are having sleepless nights and reconsidering their business plan, possibly also looking at scaling down their sales forecasts for 2011... unless they can come up with some clever excuse or marketing mumble to further fool people. EISH

Hey, wait a minute. I have an XS powerband thingy lying around, when he gets back from my folks, I'll stick it on him, and see if he can get the magnet off the fridge door then...

Yeah, interesting point.

Having had a few MRI scans in my life I can attest it did nothing for me. :)

Although its (MRI scans) considered to have no side effects, doctors always seem to tell you that one may feel a bit dizzy for a short period after the scan, but, I was always fine.

Has anyone ever done a test to see if there are any NEGATIVE effects on the body from the magnetic field of the PB I wonder.? Just thinking that not everyone who may buy a PB is going to be perfectly healthy, would it not maybe interfere with the operation of a heart pacemaker for instance.?
