Has any body had any good or bad experiences with the ac 350 sprint wheels? Im 82 kgs and like to call myself competitive. Are they worth it?

Me too think so.. You are at the brim of the limit. Not recommendable.

The weight limit on the chart is 220 pounds or 99.79 kg. should be ok.

which chart? the one posted shows 180lbs/82kg for the 2011 Sprint 350 700c, only other wheel with a limit is the MAG Clincher with same limit?

I have a set of sprint 350's. Awsome wheelset! I am normally around 74kg during racing season but currently tip the scales at 80kg. I have know problems with them at my current weight

got a set of R440's and love em. Sure the sprints are also a good wheelset. I weigh 71.5kg. Had the rear hub serviced once. They spin easily, climb well and have stayed true. Small amount of flex when climbing so if you like your brakes set tight you may experience brake-pad rub, but I think the sprints will flex less, if at all. They are light wheels, and are very cost effective - give alot of bang for your buck. They are good training and racing wheels. You can just change tyres for those races that you wanna fly.

If you look from left to right, I'm reading 220lbs, and all the other wheels are listed in that column below. The 180lb limit must be for another model of the 350 sprint wheel?

I know someone 125kg riding the sprint 350's without a hassle.

Testament to their strength!

Maybe testament to the fact he rides on smooth roads at super slow speeds. A limit is set for a very good reason.

Besides, you will struggle with both warranty and re-sell. I do not suggest you buy them. Even though they are very light (I suspect that is why you like them?), you would be better off buying something that is maybe a bit heavier, but will stand the test of time. If you are competitive that means you are going to ride the wheels a lot more aggressively than the 125kg guy.

I am very happy with my 350's.

Commute on them, train, race, everything.

Right now I am close to 90kg again and with a laptop on back etc commuting they are still cool.

Even rode over a half brick once by mistake on the way to work.

Still true and happy :)

Had them for about 2 years now.

Love my 350 sprints as well and I weigh in at 80kg's average.... Got them for a couple of months and loves how it just rolls..... Nice climbing wheels as well, very light and stiff....

I had a set that came with a Fuji that I bought (2005 model). Whilst riding up a steep hill the freewheel broke and my legs went spinning into space and nearly wiped out.

A local bike shop, known for their wheel building, could not repair them and they had to be sent to Cape Town to the Amercian classic agents.

I later learnt that there was a recall on the exact model for the exact same problem. When I contacted American Classic to ask why they had charged me R620 to repair a wheel that was subject to a recall for the same reason, they basically shrugged their shoulders and told me that there was no evidence to suggest that the damage was related to the recall.

I can only assume that 5 years on, the fault leading to the recall has been rectified.
