How much fun was babbas today! Ok the mud got a bit boring by the end of the second lap but I had such a jol today! Took it very slow ( maybe to slow) and just enjoyed the scenery and some good riding

Big up the fast guys passing today, especially the young riders, called for track and was thanked by every one, that's the attitude we need to keep in Mtb, especially in the young upcoming riders.

Hope the girl waiting under the tree eventually got to go in the ambulance that was stuck in the mud!

Lessons learnt from Babba's today:

1. Get a longer cycling shirt otherwise the mud / grit that your backwheel picks up will land on your back and slide into the gap between the MTB shorts and the chamois. What follows is that you will learn the true meaning of grind ( and your wife will not believe that those are not skid marks no matter what you say).

2. Keep your cycling glasses on. Mud on the lense is less painful than mud in the eye.

3. The bike in front of you will not keep to the line in the mud and you will not be able to stop no matter what you do. (Sorree to the oke in the lime green shirt, I tried boet, I really tried!)

4. A pressure washer cleans clothes and shoes better that any amount of soaking will do, even skid marks disappear!

Man that was fun, lets do it again tomorrow!

First Babas race and was pretty happy with my result, sooper sloopy mud... Felt like a 70km time trial!! Not my kinda course, but that's just a personal preference. Excellent organisation and vibe with everyone! :)

Was also great to see Marissa van de Merve mixing it up with the lads, gave it proper gas!

Did anybody measure the 35km route with a gps. want to know what "actual" distance was.

I've measured 63.81 for the 70km race. Any comments on this?

Where can I get the photos?
