Whats the feeling on these frames?

Can get one at what I think is a good price (what would be a good price? These frames were released from 2007 onwards, not sure of this one's vintage.)Still in excellent nick, seems hardly used.

Weighs in at 2.15kg with Fork (Time fork), FSA Headset, Spacers KCNC Seatpost and Campy BB (will be changed for Shimano compatible BB)

I was put off those frames big time, when I was able to squash to the top tube between my fingers...

Odd - I've been riding a Solis NITRO for 3 years, and never had a single problem with it. I've take a couple of spills and its got a few chips in the laquer, but it still rides perfectly

OK, insurers are paying out full insured amount. If all goes to plan my bike will consist of following:

1) - Frameset, as above

2) - Groupset, full 10sp Dura Ace (not sure which series, 2nd hand, not new) New 105 Ten speed

3) - Wheelset, Fulcrum Racing 5 Evolution

4) - Rest of components such as Stem, Handlebar, Seat, Pedals, etc still to be decided.

Hopefully bike will come in at under 8kg. (Down from my current 9.70kg)

Will post photo's and final spec once build is complete.

Update on New bike specs.

Frame as above.

Groupset new 10sp 105 (with internal cable routing)

Cockpit, seems like full ITM products, alternatively full KCNC.

Wheelset, stil Fulcrum Racing.

MariusL, I checked the frame, pushed all the tubes with all my might, no squashing them at all. Seems this frame is in 100% condition.

Had a Solis Nitro for a few months and I was impressed.

My son now rides it and neither of us had any problems.

I'd be surprised if you get the complete bike to weigh under 8kg.

Oh okay... I must have been too strong at the time, or tested a dud one...

What happened to the Omega?

Seat tube broke, Alu frame, cannot be repaired.

They are not available anymore (new), but I was quoted R8 200 for one in 2007 when I trashed my Fuji frame. I would guess that they are worth about R4 500 on the second hand market.

They are nice looking frames and are pretty light. I remember their advert in a bike mag quoted the weight as 1.05kg.

Hey congrats Wannabe, cant wait to see pics of the new ride.

You were very strong on the old steed, if that one's going to be lighter then the guys better watch out.

Slightly more. Spoke to Local distibutor guy for them, says you can pay up to R8000-00 for a mint frame (which this one is).

Yes, 1.05 kg quoted for frame only.
