Hi all

My 5 month old Shimano cycling shoes came loose at the stitching. Took it to LBS and they had to send it to JHB and I will only get it next week.  My trusty old pair (which I only spin in, has come loose at the sole (spinning too hard).  We are doing 160 km on Sat & 110 km on Sun  (training for DC).  I cannot miss the ride and will have to go with shoes that has come loose at the sole.  Can't take it to shoemaker as glue will need a couple of days to set.  Any recomendations on what I can do with the old pair?

Go buy a pair of Sidi's! My old MTB pair have been used since 1998, and nothing (no stiching, buckles or anything else) has ever given me a single problem!!

Try Pratley Wondafix. It's a 2-part adhesive formulated to remain flexible and is specifically indicated for, among other applications, shoe repair.

I used it a few years ago on my cycling shoes when the sole began separating and it gave them a couple of years more life. Be warned: it dries to an ugly caramel colour, so you'll lose style points.

I bought it at Game, I think.

I repaired running shoes (I did various half marathons with them and still wear them in the garden) and my old Shimano cycling shoes that got damaged after a fall with these. Works wonderfull..... heck, who cares about style, charcter counts much more than "style"
