Maybe if you guys spent more time training and less time on this place you will move up in your seeding??

Maybe...

Maybe not...

PPA updated today, yes! after 4 races starting in W I've been moved up to I. Happy!

Well done, Elvin! I've had what I thought were a few decent races and I'm still stuck in J. I see they took 10 mins off the winner's time in the 99er. I bet the organisers didn't realise the lack of quality of the winners of their race.

Oh, hang on...the SA champ came second. Bloody ridiculous seeding process!

I am in K now with 34.08 index, damn J would have been 34 need to drop the .08 somewhere

Hey Andydude work you magic and tell us what seeding our current SA Champ would get on the 99er as per PPA's seeding index.

Adjusted winners time 02:33:31

Darren's time 02:42:04

Just out of interest and to see if their seeding system is flawed (as we all believe )

Current SA champ gets a fine B seeding of 6.3 % for the 99er

B is from 4.5 to 9%. So the winners of Burger and 99'er both only good enough for a B.

I think the delta they used for the race is 0.93 ... Argus is 1, so 99er is considered 7% easier.

PPA really trying to thin out the CAT1 and CAT2 bunches, but they are clobbering some of us who have trained really hard to try and race Vets for example. I cant qualify even though I came 16th in my age group for example, having started in A. My 3:04 gives me a G seeding.

That is an interesting point, stratus5...

The origin of this thread still poses the question:

Seeding runs are conducted on the 1st Wed of each month.

Does anybody know whether PPA have changed their operations and forgot to update their website?

Don't mean to be rude AirB....but quite honestly the frequency of PPA updates (irrespective of whether it was indeed the topic) is just not that big of a deal and quite frankly not really an interesting topic to waste our time on.

The real issue is the PPA flawed seeding system and whether they friggin update the seeds 20 times a month, I don't believe they deserve commendations for frequency......GET THE FRIGGIN SYSTEM RIGHT ....and then maybe i'll commend them.

I feel you, HeadHunter... Know what you mean. :)

I'm still curious.

Excluding the Beta which will make it worse (and which I will work out tomorrow for me, but which apparently differs for each rider) it would be (in seconds - more accurate as taught by Fandacious) (9724/9211-1)*Beta(1 for now)*100=5.569 - thus, SA Champ will only get a B seeding (higher than 4.5). The crux of the matter is that even if he won by 10 minutes they would still have adjusted by almost 10 minutes which would probably still work out at a B seeding!

But which I think is fine if everybody's are done like that and only that method is used, but now most riders are still riding on their previous indexes as calculated with "easier"/previous methods - that is where the problem is!

The formula doesn't really matter, and the flaws don't really matter either. Here's why:

1. The field needs to be spread out across the alphabet.

2. The faster groups will be more sparsely populated to cater for people moving up between annual number issue.

3. Unless you are riding away from your start group every week, you are prolly in the right start group.

4. Just ride your bikes, you whingeing pansies!

That is all.
