Have had a rather animated discussion over the past couple of days with a couple of Hubbers as to which is the "coolest" front mudguard.

Here are the contenders:

Topeak FX

THE Pro XC

In terms of price....

Topeak - R 140

THE - R 260

So what say the Hubbers ?

edit: And no, I'm not including Debbies coke bottle rear mudguard

The Topeak mounting bracket lasted one ride and broke when I removed it.

Very poor quality.

Was the one ride the one at Tokia? the same one we fell and broke your shoulder / arm??LOL

This Hubber says that The Thug is stirring. The discussion wasn't about coolness. My opinion is that no mudguards are cool.

Topeak cost me R95 and THE was quoted as costing R280. Topeak is the best value-for-money seeing as the mudguard will only be allowed on my mtb when it is absolutely necessary.

Only sissies use mudguards!!!WinkBig%20smile.

Agree, the Topeak one breaks to easy. Almost went down on a rocky downhill when it broke and went into the wheel.

Why only those? Because of the name? What about these BBB ones?

mandibles, i think they look good on some bikes. but generally i agree, theu can look quite uncool. i have attached one like this - not the exact one, myine cost R35 - to my singlespeed. they're more subtle and hidden away under the down tube
