TNT1 Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 if you're in zone5 for 3 hours, then it isnt zone 5. go get your max HR checked, and get a coach to work out your zones What he said.
Supervan Posted February 15, 2011 Author Posted February 15, 2011 No you must have felt half dead by the end. Dude unless you make a living out of it being on the limit for that long is just not healthy - unless of course you are just on the verge of zone 5 and not well within the zone. I have uploaded my Profile.
Omlette Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 i heard you take the figure 220 and subtract your age to calculate your mhr, not sure if this is totaly correct?
Gravity Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 omlette that is a very inaccurate method, there is a grace of something like 15 beats either way.

GTRacing Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Looks like you were running flat out balls to the wall all guns blazing ready to go BIG...Must have been racing.Nothing strange. Cool that you can maintain.
shade Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 i heard you take the figure 220 and subtract your age to calculate your mhr, not sure if this is totaly correct?NO, this is inaccurate. It ALSO varies for different sports, swimmimg vs cycling vs running. To accurately get your true MHR, you need to go and exert yourself to achieve this.. Its not advisable though(Dr. permission required).. thats why the best zones to train at,are those based on LT(Lactate Threshold)
Supervan Posted February 15, 2011 Author Posted February 15, 2011 Looking at your HR ave, you were gunning it flat out balls to the wall...You must have been racing. Yes... i tried a different training tech-nick
vanniri Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Had the same problem as you - I spent so much time in zone 5 I had to create a zone 6 just to recuperate.
Harry Potter Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 My age : 43Max Heart Rate : 182 Zone 1 = 111 - 139Zone 2 = 139 - 154 Zone 3 = 154 - 168zone 4 = 168 - 174Zone 5 = 174 - 182Dude if this is your HR, Then Zone 5 should be your zone 4 and zone 5 should be 182+ and if you ride in your current zone 5 then you are not pushing it in your races but only stuffing around
avatar Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 (edited) Yes, its completely possible, this was only 2 hrs, could have easily kept it up for 3. Edited February 15, 2011 by avatar
