the prices you guys see on CRC are MOST of the time less than the cost price retailers(bike shops ) have to pay to land it in their store from local suppliers.

If stuff lands more expensive then what CRC sells them for then why did my LBS match the prices of stuff I could get from CRC. And it was not old stock, he had to still get it from Coolheat.

you did nothing wrong bigboy,i bought a egg beater the other day for less that crc and cwc , 25 bucks, works wonders on eggs and my arm! LOL

i agree wholeheartedly, they rock!!

i have ordered a couple of things from CRC, prices are very good, (and delivery is very fast) local industry needs to wake up, i have noticed that Chris Willemse Cycles(CWC), are sometimes not far off from CRC...

but i do still support my LBS, i dont try and fit parts myself and rather take it to them to fit, so they are still getting my business even if only a small portion....

once they start competing in price with CRC and CWC i will without doubt buy from them(again)....until then they will have to settle for sloppy seconds..

i think there is a saying: if you want loyalty....get a dog!

Wow! look at that! So i guess I'm not buying from CRC after all, got two option.

Lesson I've learnt, next time I wanna buy something, check locally before I assume that CRC will be cheaper.

I always check local before going CRC and most of my purchases have been done localy. But there are times where CRC wins hands down. My pannier bag for example, R380 landed all incl (import, etc) and localy I could not source anything for under R1K.

My new pedals for R220 are antother CRC example, but my Park Tool floor pump was R20 cheaper at my LBS than CRC listed price ex VAT/delivery/duties.

dependant on various factors... Rand/dollar/euro... and if customer like you ask retailer to match CRC price... some guys will take the loss .. some money better than no maney if you have the stock hey? example of dollar/rand..in 2009 i ordered Tiagra sti's without asking price..(i mean how much can it be) had to pay R2079 vat inclusive COST!!! 6 months later 105's 10 speed where less than that..

Compare apples with apples please, one is a Park Tool product, the other a cheap knock off. The cheap knock off may well be good enough but it's not the same thing now is it?
