C'mon, that was half a wheel photo finish. Contador can be forgiven. If he'd kicked a few metres earlier he would have taken it. Evans may have won, but I think he was outclassed.

Eccentric1 or should we say Biggit H, Dangle and all those. How can you disrespect a top rider like that? How many other riders at many, many other races have thought they have won with a close finish like that only to be denied on camera. Cadel didnt think he won either cause it was that close. It has happend in almost every sport where there is a finish line!!

In a pointless 1km climb he dropped all but 3 of his rivals on a bump in the road that doesnt suite his riding style and strength. What this shows is how threatened you all are by Contador and you all know he, even thou 1min odd down can still win this Tour and this will hopefully make you feel better. Can I ask because Thor finished in that group will he go on to win the Tour cause he was with the top riders?

PS: What is "Clem" and shouldnt it be Contador.com and not Contador.'s?

Contador did not look comfortable at all, to me it looked as if he hit the Mûr-de-Bretagne

No one looked comfortable, Andy, Cadel, Frank, Thor etc. How comfortable would you be at 140% maximum effort trying to win a stage or hang on?

I ride for fun and not for a living. You are right, Cuddles looked like he was scared by a ghost in his interview.

There are so many negative Contador threads , I agree that the people who create these must feel very threatened for their favourites, by the great rider.

I hope he has his climbing legs and will be able to challenge for the Yellow Jersey, besides it being great entertainment for us mere mortals, if he manages to get up there this year with all the bad luck and negative sentiments, it must mean he is true champion.

I agree that just the way he had handled eveything to date already puts him in a class of his own.

The fact is that it would had to take a very tough Giro to actually bring him down to the level of the other challengers.

Nobody else in the current Peloton would not or could not even attempt it.

I wonder if they come more pompous and arrogant than that, as for Cuddles (?) must be a new nickname, it's about time he stepped up to the plate.

He stepped up to the plate in 2009 when he won the world champs with a great attack.

That surprised the hell out of everyone, as they had never seem him do that before.

Opening statement, very mature..........

Second line, who would be crazy enough to even entertain a stupid hypothesis like that ?

Last sentence, the maturity blows me away.

Contador acted like an arrogant spoilt brat yesterday, nuff said.

If you are a fan, then do understand that the only thing standing in the way of ignorance and bliss is just a mere blindfold.

Yes and no.

True champion, yes so it may be and he has been in the past, but can he still be taken serious, I for one don't, and if it offends, well then too bad, he is doing a good job at tossing his own credibility in to the water.

Bpayne, take a Sto-Payne of even better a chill pill, "clem" you find in steaks that Contadrol eats. Talk about respect, he should not even be in the Tour with the doping scandal hanging over him, even the TdF director said so.

I am really happy for Cuddles...he rode well, countered moves on his own and his team helped bring back the break. Contadors team didnt help much at all. I think that attack to win worlds gave him a different angle to his riding style.

Well deserved and set up team victory if you ask me... and the best/strongest rider does not always win... Gilbert is arguably the best man for that stage and almost every stage this week. but he cant win them all.

Thor's ride was extremely impressive, showing great power, but the yellow Jersey will weigh him down in the end. He is already a lead out man and no longer a lead sprinter - maybe because of it.

Cav looked vunerable after the intermediate sprint, Farrar beat him head to head showing Cav is human after all.

I am not a contador fan, yeah he's a great rider, but I dont like him throwing his hand up was another nail in his coffin, it took all the hype off the real winner. if he had lunged maybe and not concentrated on his celebration so much perhaps the finish line would have come sooner for his front wheel.

I would love to see Cadel feature in the mountains too and keep it to more than a two horse race. PS where was the Wigger?

I doubt it, he can still control his bowels, who unlike Armstrong in a few months wont be able to cause Bubba is gonna get his own "7 wins" out of Armstongs asshole and ride slip all night loooooong!

I find this thread ironic, people can go on a tangent about Armstrong, this one and that one and Contador make his name tottie, then suddenly the non fans are anti-Contador semites. (yes I did meant to use that word)

Then I get the impression that Prudhomme doesn't feel that his position is a win/win situation regarding Contador.

Prudhomme regrets the delays and the fact that the Spaniard will be able to compete in the race, despite being under investigation for a doping offence in the previous edition. If CAS ultimately rules against him, he will lose his 2010 title. Were he to win the 2011 Tour, he would also be stripped of that victory.

This tour has not even started yet, that's why I will lay claim to the fact that I find Contador's approach very immature.

As we all know I hardly ever watch road races, but everytime i do, i see a bunch of 5 or six morons try and break away from the rest of the field, and invariably 9.9997 / 10 the pelaton just catches them in the end. Whats the bloody point besides tireing out yourself and by doing that having a tired team?

It's because Contador is such a nice quitely spoken Spanish boy who keeps his thoughts to himself, or maybe he just doesn't even have any outspoken thoughts?
