  1. Did Groenkloof yesterday with one of the Bizhub Minolta Ladies, what a nice ride, got caught by the rain with 2km to go on first lap. Took a quick break (waiting for the rain to die down, and then head out on second lap. How slippery didn’t it get....legs full of scrapes.....and then the "little" stream crossing.... This was my first crossing of the "little" stream, and it was no stream any longer, it was a river and it was flowing. Being not a very sensible chap, I normally take on any obstacle (only to see my G@^)and this was no different. I judged the water to be about 40cm deep, but as soon as my front wheel disappeared and I flew across the handle bars (had some momentum.....actually a lot of momentum)I knew it was a tad deeper (waist deep ). I went swimming and my bike got swept away with the water Lost my Jawbones and my MTB credibility in the rescue attempt. The only thing my riding partner got to say was "I wish I had a video camera, this is something to share " But Groenkloof stays amazing !!!!!
  2. Smart, kan nie wag vir die volgende race nie
  3. Ag no...come on...READ... a club member appologised therefore, and thus the matter is now closed.
  4. Not hear to shame the club, they know who they are and already got an appology after posting this on pm. So my "investment" did pay off; It was not "meaningless hearsay". Your posts was not realy constructive was it? except to bring out your ...... wonderfull attitude to other cyclists
  5. Yes, and if a lady gets killed, raped or injured due to this tipe of action, will you have the same comment.... Just wonder what your reply would have been if this was a female family member of yours? A comment like yours does not even justify a reply. Grow the f*&k up!!!!
  6. Thanks Saint, that is exactly what is expected of the cycling community. I was also tought to never leave a rider behind on a training ride. Who's fault it is can be argued in many directions, the question remains: Do you leave a lady cyclist on the side of a road at 6am and 20km out of town on her own?
  7. Ek glo jou MJ, nie maklik vir ouens soos jy om 'n partner te kry wat net so sterk soos jy is nie, ne.
  8. Back up vehicle must ride at the back, if any one is dropped he must pass themat some point, no excuse for leaving someone behind
  9. I am so disappointed this morning in one of the big cycling clubs attitude. Lady friend (from overseas) did a morning ride with a well-known club, due to being a top cyclist. Got a puncture during the ride and was left stranded by the club riders and their back-up vehicle!! Thanks for the South African hospitality and leaving a fellow cyclist on the side of the road at 6am!!!!!
  10. Entry confirmed, can not wait!!!!!
  11. Had a great race, would have been nice to have more hills to break the bunches up earlier. Very happy with my time, checked my official time this morning on Racetech......nothing Really disappointed, need my official time

  15. Wow yes, happened just behind me, had a chat to her earlier in the race, and seems as if she enjoyed then, told me the pace was a bit high, but I encouraged her to hang on in the middle Hope she is fine
  16. got just over 104km
  17. MJ miskien moet jy my ook bietjie wys om dit te doen (nie dat ek enigsins klagtes het oor my LBS nie, in teendeel ek het nog een free diens oor) wil net graag weet hoe om dit self ook te doen
  18. A friend of mine recently had a nasty fall with his MTB and bend his rear derailleur badly (well known shop quoted him R800 - R 1500 for repairing it). Due to finances being low I suggested that we take the bike to Cycle Fix in Pta East to have a look, and suggest possible "low budget" fixes. On our arrival Magnus immediately looked at the bike, and even after suggesting to him that we would come back later (as he was really busy), he insisted on immediately fixing the derailleur. Well, the bike is fixed, my friend is absolutely over the moon, and it costed him.....lets just say he will not support any other shop except Cycle Fix. Great Job Guys !!!!
  19. PRETORIA - Cycle Fix Do not need to give any reasons, their service speaks for itself.

    MTB Size?

I am 1.79 and got custom fitted by Cyclefit. Ride a 2011 Giant Anthem X (medium). Get yourself custom fitted when buying a bike, then you will have the right size frame.
  21. take both for a spin, en decide then. The Felt has got a better groupset on, but the Giant......well it is a giant, and that says it all
