  1. I agree. Especially with stuff like bike fit. I hear Horror stories. I habe my suppliers that was refered to me. But he's in pta. And yes dit. Skimp on safety gear
  2. PS I won't nè one of those customers. I'm more in the other 20% at the bottom
  3. YES and know. If I think of most my customers I'm pta that have decent bikes. 30% are 100k plus. Everyone has a market. But you need to very sure you target the correct market and deliver the correct service. When I work for my clients that have be 20mil houses I treat it different than the one living in Danville. It is difficult to get into the high end market. But worth it. This is now related to other stuff. But same applies to any service type job
  4. Ok somethings I've learnt I've the past month. Jou gat is eina pyn die 2de dag. After reading the stuff about food etc at the epic it's maybe best for me to take my own farm water and food. Since I'm used to that. Then a health person also said most people train for the stage races and eat for it but forget about their general health. A stage race takes alot out of you and also really knocks your immune system. So you should take stuff to boost your immune system aswell. And rest and sleep is also important.
  5. I'm 165. And small med works for me. Small just lo get stem
  6. One thing to remember is also quantity. Alot more road tires are sold than bicycle tires. This your cost per unit comes down
  7. So wolwespruit In Pretoria is having a trek demo day. 6:30-11. https://www.facebook.com/115303843663253/posts/pfbid02PjHq2Q3bC2bDk5iPnK6Zwh8KJJaXoqR2hTidvNZQUhZNvMtPdPVT3Zx52z5H1XaQl/?sfnsn=scwspmo&mibextid=afzh1R
  8. Have you tried horses? If you want to talk about expensive go there. Cycling is expensive since the tdau I started I knew it's expensive but cheaper that riding motorcycle cycles or my previous jeep. I used same shoes, bin, shirts etc for 7 years. Not bad if you ask me.
  9. Or just don't make the exhaust tip stick out. I don't think that's a standard exhaust
  10. https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/hardtail-mountain-bikes/628900/scott-aspect-930 Like this. Small will also be very much in your size
  11. My option is listen to Robert. He has alot of stuff lying there by him and will definitely be able to help you build something decent. I have also looked at 26 vs 29. 26 has it downs but also you get better bikes for the same monetary value as 29er. Also I would look for best Components. A 26 er with good bearings and deore components is better than 29er with acera. But you can if you arw patient and shop everywjere incl Facebook find a decent 29er for that price. Speak to Robert and see what he can help you with price wise
  12. Go into the Kruger. You will even find motivation there
  13. What mtb do you have. Wheel size
  14. So recently garmin had a very good deal on the edge 530/830 at Cyclelab. Now I see theres leaked hints of an 540/840
  15. https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/hardtail-mountain-bikes/629435/2020-giant-talon-2-29 No this is overpriced
  16. That's not what the op said.
  17. I don't know the bike but my opinion is for that price I would rather get a decent dual suspension secondhand. I mean. A new KTM Scarp is 44k.
  18. I have never seen a coil KTM like that. Must be the latest model. Nice price. Think I wnat one
  19. Not my field. I do xc and a bit of trail
  20. I use chaoyeng travelers I bought 6 years ago still works on trainer. But only used it for 2 months now. But. 3hours every week hard training
  21. So when buying. Check for scratches, to see normal falling etc.look for serious damage and cracks. All used bikes have scratches. Check especially fork. Ride it and check gears. Test brakes. And spin wheels to see if they run true
  22. Good deals won't stay long. Just be careful of scammers. Never pay up front
