We also did the route this morning. We had to get off our bikes at the top of Sir Lowery's and push our bikes through the neck as the wind pushed us off our bikes. Luckily the wind calmed down later in the day. Took us bit longer and we also made a detour via Bottelary RD to add distance.

If I was you, I would much rather try and find someone with the same problem. Drop one car in Knysna at a nice safe place Both go to Uniondale with the other car and after the race take the parked car and drop the other driver in Uniondale. With this way you do'nt have to give the keys of you dont know how many rands to somebody you dont know.

I think you misunderstood the concept. The board is like your racetec chip. And will be used over and over. I also last year rant over the price. But let me tell you, that there is no contest between this race and a ppa race or other races that I entered (excluding Dirtopia). From the start to the finish it is better and more value for money. Water tables is actually refreshment stations and the medal is just something worth keeping and we received a gym towel also. After the race I felt that I actually got value for my money and will gladly pay a bit more and receive such a high standard event than pay peanuts and feel cheated.

All my plans changed. So in the end we sleep in the church hall and someone will come from George to fetch the vehicle the next day and wait for us in Knysna. That will be a first for me. O wait .... I did that many moons ago on some or other camp on school. I am sure I am not going to sleep much. ..But I have read somewhere is is the few nights before that that counts. Edit : Last year we slept on a farm somewhere out of town. and I also did not sleep because of the nerves. So no difference.

A very good samaritan helped me to jump-start my car as I left the lights on in all my anticipation of the race. I was wondering/hoping whether he is a hubber as I would like to get hold of him.

I do the 40km. I received an SMS Hi Mari Your race number is J4125. But then again............ My name is not Mari. and I dont know whether Mari entered the 40 or the 30. Wil try and sort it at registrastion.
