how long have you been cycling for? I had similar issues when i got back on the bike after a few years. I found by moving my seat forward a bit it stoped me from reach so much for the bars and the sore shoulders went. as for the lower back, it comes down to core muscles, I trained them in the gym and as they strengthed the sore back went.

I went and saw a dietician and she put almonds on the list of things to eat (Dam small bl**dy list!) said somehting about them containing something that helps with fat loss but i am only allowed a handfull a day (pretty hard to work out a number cause some nuts are bigger than others ) she advised no more than 10 regular sized nuts...... I know that a lot of other nuts get a bad rep cause we often eat them roated and salted, raw nuts are the way to go (shammy cream to the rescue!)

i find mtb guys more friendly, maybe they just dont see that i am actually a d!ck as fast as the roadies do! maybe roadies are just better judges of character!
