  1. I saw there was pretty negative thread a while back about a Fritz Store, my experience was completely different. I purchased a frame from another store and went into Fritz to get prices for parts and ended up getting them to build it for me. This was not a brand I see stocked by Friz. The guys really went the extra mile to have my build done by the weekend, driving around collecting parts that were unfortunately not provided with the frame and working late on a friday to have the bike ready. Made such a good impression that I purchased another bike from them today (one of those funny looking things with the skinny wheels) I aways find these guys friendly, helpful and honest Thanks guys!
  2. man those s-works are pretty
  3. Here is my extra 3 inches of fun
  4. what changes, if any, have you made on the 29er? Im running 2X10 XX, anybody on the same and made any changes thats makes climing better?
  5. yeah that was pushing it hey? thought I would get away with it but alas!
  6. Lol! I knew I would get a reaction from somebody! I had to order the flat bars I wanted and could not wait anymore so just put bars on I had spare.
  7. thanks flex! not sure what she weighs, waiting to put the xx stuff on and will then weigh her.
  8. No I built it like that, I think Coolheat are the agents, not sure, I missioned like you dont beleive to get a frame. full x9, cannot fault it, just putting my xx on as will be my race bike for this year so want to bring the weight right down. the difference from the x9 to the xx was minimal in terms of function I found, weight will be the big diff. could not justify spending the extra tin on another xx build.
  9. Lol, I would let you, but Im not a nice person really
  10. got a new toy, XX going off the s-works onto this bike
  11. yeah agree and maybe should have mentioned that, technical climbing is easier the more I think about my ride today the more the 29er stands out
  12. was in the bodybuilding game for a few years Creatine mono does require the loading phase as most is just pee'd out, does not absorb as fast as some of the other strands of creatine available now. it bulks the muscles with lots of water, this is where most of the bulk comes from. I would agree with the comment about cramps, know side effect but as said already, everybody responds differently to it
  13. I took my 29er out today for the first proper ride and thought some might find a normal persons review helpfull. I am no race snake, built like a front row rugby player but did some provincial riding as a lighter lighty. Been riding bikes for about 18 years Normally ride a S-works Stumpy, pretty light and have just got a Niner Air9 29er. PLEASE NOTE: these are my oppinions and what I found, so not challanging anybody else or wanting to start a 40 page flaming session - If this happens I will find you and punch you right in the mouth! 29er Pros: Riding this thing over technical rocky stuff is amazing! I had read this in many articles but never realised just how much of a difference the bigger wheels makes. I rode at Groenies today and sections that I had to hit just right on the 26er to clear, I rode through with no problems. The major difference was being able to just ride over stuff instead of picking a path around stuff. Riding downhill and is chalk and cheese, 29er hands-down wins this. Cons: Climbing - I was surprised how much slower climbing was on the 29er, it might be because it was my first time climbing it and I need to learn how to ride climbs on it but it was way slower than the 26er. I can see that I will need to do a lot more strength training to get the climing right. All in all, I rode against my virtual partner on the garmin and in the end was faster on the 29er, it just makes you feel like you can ride much better than what you could before. If you not a strong climber I am not sure if theis would be the way to go and in a race with long climbs, for me I would probably ride a 26er - Untill Im stronger and can climb it better. MY personal choice......29er
  14. do yourself a favour and go and see each bike in the flesh. In my oppinion the mercury is not in the same class as the rest of the bikes you mention
  15. keep an eye on Solomons, I got a few pairs off Assos from them, last time I paid R500 a pair
  16. no body forces anybody to do their events, if you can afford them dont do them. I do events for the fun of it, I work many time more 14 hours a day, for me to pay R200 to unwind on the weekend is worth every cent, hell I would pay R500!
  17. had the 705 and loved it, now have the 800 and love it more! 800 all the way, no complaints
  18. 40% I think
  19. No I think it was was very good, you missed the point of the add completely! it was about camaraderie and getting through the battle that the epic is. "Yes most advertising is clever, a lot of money is spent, and a lot of cocaine gets consumed, but does it make it 'good'?" Dude what are you on about?? have you lived a very sheltered life?
  20. I had a look at the Cube's a little while back, very well made bike and seem well priced, dont think you will go wrong with it
  21. same as the Epic commentry, 29er this, 29er that... blah blah blah. I have both, but never needed an entire weeks worth of racing commentry to make my mind up
  22. where is this place
  23. Hi, Welcome to the hub I have one and use it for interval sessions, works great. I got a trojan from Game but its not the best, depending what area you in, try cajees or there is a shop by cyclelab fourways that sells reconed gym stuff, they had some good ones for a decent price. you want to look for one with a heavy wheel
  24. Ill take it off your hands if you decide not to ride.
  25. To set the record straight here Dangle did get a price to me, I chose to use a shop I had used before and that gave me a great price and excellent service, so If I offened anybody I appologise.
