I cramped for many years whilst cycling,always around the 60 km mark and tried everything to try help it.Two years ago I discovered that Lipitor that is used for cholestrol problems had this side affect.I changed to Cresto and now very rarely cramp. I must say though that I cramped the worst of my life doing the ARGUS this year.This was because I had not been able to train properly,so my own fault. My legs are still so sore I can barely walk.

This is a very sad day for cycling,if what is reported actually happened ie the front cyclist swerved late as he was talking etc,then they should all receive a total ban from ALL forms of cycling races for an absolute minimum of 1 year.The idiot who bashed his bike against the vehicle and threw punches should be banned for longer and made to attend anger management classes. I am totally ashamed to be a cyclist today.

I hear that one of the cyclist's in PE is going to hire a private detective to find these barbarians.We can only hope they are caught and thrown in jail for a very very long time

Are we going over Chappies this year after the storm late last year ie all the damage

It changes the cycle quite significantly,particularly the Lake farm climb.Do not under estimate the climb along Kragga Kamma road to Cows corner either.The Maitlands climb is also quite tough. It is difficult to say what it will add to the time as it also now has some fast descents.At a guess for an average cyclist I would say 30-40 minutes

I know John-Lee and he had told me a couple of months back that he had had complications after his op and would probably never do multi day races again- the pain gets too severe. I really hope he is now over the worst and it all works out for him.It is possible that he only does the "shorter" races.

I am looking to buy new tubless tyres for my 29er and needing some advice please.I am a very average cyclist but I do the likes of the Knysna Oyster,The Addo etc. Due to back problems, I try and avoid the real technical rides/races but do enjoy single track and marathon type riding.I also do some riding on tar roads,so I guess I'm looking for a good all round tyre that has good grip for the rougher stuff. Any comments/suggestions please.

We have also entered and watched a UTube video of the trail, it does not look like a walk in the park.Some of the sections look very technical. and there a few tough climbs. Distances aren't too long so should be a good 2 days of riding.

I bought my full Merida kit from Kevin Evans shop in Plett.

Even though the wind was howling I hear it was largely behind the riders,the times therefore are pretty decent. well done to everyone that completed it. I might see you there next year

What Tyler did was very wrong and he has admitted this and apologised for it.You don't have to forgive him but you might learn from him by attending this ie don't make his mistakes.I wish I was in Joburg as I would attend.

My wife and my bikes are all covered with them at a very competitive rate.My wife crashed 2 months ago ending up with R12500 damage to her bike,they paid out in 3 days.

I bought a Brookes saddle almost a year ago and have been very happy with it.Unfortunately in the last month it has started squeaking rather badly.I do use proofide on it but does not help. If anyone has a suggestion,please feel free to comment.
