  1. Have a set of these as well. Dont have the toe clips though.
  2. Does the sticker on the downtube refer to the 84 world champs?
  3. Those things used to give you serious helmet hair.
  4. Wow, that is by far the best bike on this thread.
  5. Wow, that is nice.
  6. Yip, and anyone can be a client through his website, http://www.53x12.com
  7. It definitely helps having the cell number of the patrol car for your area. Dont know if these numbers are published by the SAPS but the neighbourhood watch guys should have all those details.
  8. Exactly. Not to mention there were 26 witnesses. That's quite something to orchestrate for an organisation that has less funding available to them than Lance Armstrong has.
  9. It might be sour grapes, but it is true. Those same guys who shunned Simeoni and built successful careers on the back of their doping past come forward at the end of their careers and tell us how sorry they are.
  10. Tyler admits that had he not been subpoenaed to stand before a grand jury he probably would have kept his silence. The fear of being sentenced for perjury was what it took for him to break his silence, and not some desire to do good.
  11. I agree. I have just finished the book, and doping aside it has made me appreciate how tough a sport this really is. With or without dope, those guys are superhuman.
  12. True. I guess only David can say.
  13. He probably wasn't part of the elite white bag club since he never did any of the major tours, but he surely knew what was going on.
  14. That was odd. The Hein and Pat mafia seem to play by their own(or Lances) rules. I also find it odd that Landis has to pay Hein and Pat 10000 euro each for badmouthing the UCI. Surely he should be paying the UCI that money and not the individuals that run it.
  15. LOL. Glad the eBay user isn't Grey Owl, or you may be getting a swimming pool manual in the post soon. Nice watch You've been scarce fiasm, nice to see you back.
  16. He'll think twice next time he wants to let one rip.
  17. Thats a forced SS conversion right there.
  18. Shimano still makes similar levers, as well as a few other companies. Maybe you're better off buying new. Have a look here: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Categories.aspx?CategoryID=553
  19. Those old brake hoods can be found on ebay, but not that cheap. http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Old-Stock-Shimano-Aero-Brake-Lever-Hoods-Black-/390474779514?pt=Cycling_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5aea1c4b7a
  20. I think you have a point. Its not about the doping for everyone, they just don't like Lance. My dislike for him was reinforced when I found out that we paid him $1000000 to come to SA to help promote our charities, and at the same time promote his own. Maybe that's just sour grapes, I don't know, but I certainly don't feel the same about the other dopers like a certain Mr Ulrich for instance.
  21. That's not a Titus unfortunately. The price is a bit much considering its about 15 years old with a very entry level groupset.
  22. With steel frames do you sandblast first? Also, what base coat and paint do you use?
  23. I saw Taylor Phinney win a World Junior title at the velodrome. That was a cool night, yet the stands were empty. I dont think cyclists care about the track in particular. This forum has thousands of members, and yet this thread is struggling to find an audience. If people cant be bothered to comment here they pretty much wont be bothered about fighting for the track.
  24. Its a sad state of affairs. I grew up in Krugersdorp in the 80's. We had a fantastic athletics stadium with a 500m cycling track. I trained on the track every Tuesday and Thursday night under floodlights. Races there were really well attended, with some epic battles fought by the top pros. I have really fond memories of those days. This is what the stadium looks like now:
  25. As for the Silverback, I don't notice the brakes because that horrendous crank is such an eyesore. I don't know what Shimano were thinking.
