  1. Anyone who says weight doesn't count has never ridden a 9kilo duel-sus before. There does become a point when it's a bit impracticable and starts to hinder your ability to ride downhill, but 9kilos is a good compromise. Granted, it's become a lot harder since manufacturers started going wider on rims and 120mm suspension, but still not impossible as 120mm is almost lighter than most of the 100mm we had available not long ago and 30mm internal width rims are way lighter than what was available even three years ago. All I'm saying is don't knock it till you've tried it. But dont try it, cause being a weightweenie is expensive and you wont go back.
  2. It really was an incredible story, and the timing was miraculous as I was literally down to my last cents, having to win my last few races just to make ends meet. So am grateful that they looked after me through Rona. Could probably make for a pretty interesting book, haha. But yes, Giant has come along in leaps and bounds, the new Anthem is pretty incredible to ride and really up there with the popular brands at a much lower price point.
  3. Thanks Renay for clearing that one up. And don\'t stress Shebee, I used to get emails asking about my \"latest triathlone win\" all the time, haha. But yes, different Stuart Marais.
  4. I will always be grateful for what {type}DEV have done not only for me but all the other riders I have been privileged to call team mates. It has been a a fantastic journey, and even though my professional riding career has come to an end, i am stoked to see that their support lives on in Imbuko{type}DEV.
  5. speak to @biketcoza he can probably help you out.
  6. Hi Guys, i had a similar experience the other day. The problem is that they contact you via Wattsapp or phone you. So they don't necessarily have an account to block.
  7. Anyone know what time on Supersport and what channel. Cant seem to find it, and would be a bit annoyed if they show a delayed version when they geo block it

  21. I agree with DJR, depending on the grade of your bike. For lower end specs it always ends up been cheaper to buy a new bike. 10 Speed - Plus/minus R2500-R3500 New fork - R2000- R4000 Look at the cost of the upgrade vs the price of the bike.
  22. Tyres are the quickest and easiest way to loose weight, next is the amount of stans you have put in your tyres. You can get away with around 60-70g of sealant. If that doesnt seal the hole then nothing will so whats the point in having half a bottle in there. this is more than likely where you have put the weight on as "topping up" your stans adds about 200g if you not careful. Next would be the actual wheels, american classic, stans gold, etc are pretty light and the not toooo flexy and you can pick them up at a reasonable price from a friendly hubber . But honestly the quickest and cheapest way to drop a hole bunch of weight is to go 1x10/11 ( 10 been much cheaper). Drop me a message if you need some more help. Got my 29er down to 8.3 and should have it under 8 in the next month or so. Still waiting to get some more stuff for it.
  23. So eventually got hold of them, i swear they just don't answer the phone during lunch time, FYI for anyone who is trying. Apparently they gonna try again tomorrow. From now on gonna ask them to post via TNT or something. Makes life alot easier. Thanks for the help everyone
