  1. Classy vs Cult vs Timeless...choices, choices Bond!!!!
  2. Today... A Viognier with some tuna steaks...
  3. My son has good experience with them. They were close to Stellies, now at Lourensford. Apart from the clays, you can shoot a variety of calibers, including a 50cal sniper - I think up to 1000m?
  4. Beretta Silver Pigeon.....
  5. Tried a Pinot from Van Loveren tonight - nice combo with a light curry
  6. Too lazy to walk downstairs, Vivino says yes :-)
  7. Boplaas Tinta, just because it's cold...
  8. Oh, I thought the reverse happens when you get older?
  9. Mmmm as expected LM didn't make the cut. Or is he going to be at the Giro.
  10. Steve's co-commentator (not sure who he is) is even worse!! Bad pronunciation of rider surnames, getting lots of details wrong - where Steve had to correct him. His little insight was at least accurate.
  11. Eina!! Take some wine for the "wine"..
  12. Germiston folk aren't allowed to contribute on this thread - reason being - as your rightly demonstrated
  13. He, he, he!! I bought 4 cases just before the last lockdown. Down to 38 bottles or so. In my glass this afternoon. An odd one for me. Bukettraube - Robertson Winery
  14. A business meeting Friday afternoon or Monday morning at 07h30...
  15. Imagine someone says that of the cobbled classics... We don't want the easy stuff, we want to suffer, we want the challenge.. That's the romance of cycling!!
  16. Normally I take the steeper RH side as you turn into the climb. Last year, I took the longer and less steep LH side due to the cramps. And found the cement even worse. Actually much worse. Next up - straight down the middle!!
  17. I was lazy 2 years ago just before the race, didn't want to take the 11-27 from my slightly heavier Panorama Wheels onto my 202 ZIPPS, which has a 11-25 combo. Let's say TJ was a cruel power grind in the 25...
  18. Put some extra bricks in your backpack!!! I've always has ok legs on Jenkins. So last year the Universe got all back to balance again - Hit massive cramps just before the start of the climb. For no good reason. I quickly had to swallow a quadruple dose of HTFU capsules to make it to the top and not get off to walk.
  19. Dunno hey, everyone might wait till the last minute to ensure the event goes ahead. BTW, better start pushing hard on the Edenvale hill. Jenkins is a monster!!!!!
  20. Looks the same to me? Uphill finish at the Monument?
  21. Is ASG still the organiser?
  22. That is a stunning house!! The best view is having a braai and a beer on the front stoep. Even betterer is hearing the locals sing their drunken songs the weekend before Christmas.
  23. That road is pure magic, but a hard slog!!! Groenfontein farmhouse is on your left as you travel towards Calitz, at the turn-off to Groenfontein Retreat. We stay in one of their self catering houses that are on the right side of the valley. Always in Oupa Piet which is the 100 year old yellow and green one on the koppie. SPECIAL!!! Been staying there for over a decade!!
  24. Done this many times in Dec, since I stay on a farm, Groenfontein, close to Kruisrivier. Oh, and when in PA, cycle to Weltevreden Fig Farm, 50km out and back, close to sunset. Magical!!!! The evening in PA, lamb shank at the Swartberg Hotel!!!
