  1. It's all good! I wish I had some guys helping me out! Mine left me because of a lack of communication! But yes, I know it is not everybody that is like that, it was just one cyclist in particular. So it is also an unfounded gross generalization on my side! so no need to apologize! But thank you still!
  2. Not to be funny, will it fit on the Atos?
  3. Jis, I paid R6 for RCA cables in JHB mid town to fix up my sound... I feel so used... Who has beer?
  4. It is called a Le Mans start, and it is part of racing. And actually a lot of fun. They should incorporate it into the start! The driver can first go, get the bike up and mount, and as soon as he / she is mounted, the pillar can go. Free MMA Grappling gloves should be included in their entry pack... Que the cameras!
  5. I just want to bitch about the entrance to the Polo fields parking and the Choc Cows. a. Polo fields parking - if you are going to sell tickets to parking for such a mass event, make sure you van handle the flow... I stay in Kyalami, but had to travel down main onto rivonia to get in... Took me an hour and a half. It could have easily turned into a boxing match, as some pricks could not blink to give you a gap. Usually the wannabees with the expensive carbon bikes and + 3 hours time. b. Choc - These guys do excellent work, but I had this one specific group that pissed me off big time. We all need to share the road on the day, as we all paid to do the same race (rather read ride). Down the M1, the support riders would clear the lane for the ice cream bike, and it is all good - if you stick to one bloody lane! I also had a trailer that I was dragging, and I tried to keep far left. Until they chased me away. They could not keep up at the next hill, and when they caught me again, they chased me out of the lane the chased me into... Go figure.
  6. Really good to hear you are ok! But what the hell? Why is it that innocent people should pay for the ignorance of others? I hop you got his details! Taxi Owner's usually has that kinda cash lying around, so I would most definitely take it further.
  7. Hey guys, If you are a race snake, stop here. If not, and you are: 1. Not in good shape or, 2. Up for a good time or, 3. Planning to do the 94.7 at a leisurely pace or, 4. Planning to do the 94.7 cycle challenge on your SS or, 5. Wanting to ride for a purpose. Go have a look at the link below. You can help by riding or even donating a couple of bucks... https://www.facebook.com/groups/cancerclowns/
  8. +1 on Panda sport. Received new kit from them this year... Good cycling pant and very nice shirt. Also decent winter kit! same here.... If you want pics, DM me...
  9. Sweet! Good work!
  10. Shin, Nuts, Knee to the chest.. Even an Armbar or a guillotine choke for that matter... I was driving yesterday in Midrand on the R101, when this freakin dutchman came with his Peugeot, all over the road, with some dubious intentions. SO as I proceeded to look right for traffic from Olifantsfontein to turn left, when I got the look from this oke... Eventually, it ended up in a chase, with him ending on top of a pavement. So taking these two stories, for what? My new years resolution was to calm down. How can you do that with okes like these?
  11. There is quite a few interesting opinions in the comments. This pierre de villiers dude is an @ss... They can shove their school of thought that only motorists have right to rule the road, as I mentioned, I paid taxes, supported local shops etc. What has he done?
  12. Hmmm... Would like to see it on your bike, but does not look too bad!
  13. Thanks! Stoof's name came up first, so I'll give him a shout first... @TNT, even Edenvale is not too far, but springs is a little rough...
  14. Hi Guys, I am looking for good spray painters, who needs to apply clear lacquer to my frame. The idea is to stickerbomb the frame, and then to Cover it with a proper clear coat, for protection. Quite obviously this is my MTB frame... Do you know of anyone in the Northern JHB Suburbs, Midrand, Centurion and surrounding areas?
  15. I believe this is good start: http://www.bicycling.co.za/race-calendar/?tab=upcoming And then of the CSA site... http://www.cyclingsa.com/App_Resources/Uploads/FILE00002009.xls
  16. Not quite the type of quality like Dangle's... But from my Mik and druk while the mussus was super befonk vir my... Was also quite a befonk sunset! Pic does not do it justice...
  17. We need proper laws implemented. We need proper law enforcers, enforcing said laws. We need to change all road user's attitudes, and start to obey the laws. That said, there is this other fine gentleman, who thinks I have no space on the road, as he pays for fuel, thus tax. This logic grates my nipples. I pay for fuel as well. I also pay for my Bicycle, its tires, tubes, services, spares, clothing, accommodation, etc. Who the hell does he think he is saying something like that. Ek wil hom gooi met n bossie bene! So not just will you have to educate people, they will need to accept that logic like the above is really not beneficial to anybody. In addition to that, local authorities should join the party, and make sure that cycle lanes are built. It will not cost the same as a normal tarred road, as bicycles is not that heavy on the road. So in short: 1. Change of laws - Pedestrian comes first, then Bicycles, then Bikes, Then Public Transport, Then Cars, Then Trucks. 2. Active, rolling policing of these laws 3. Change of attitudes 4. Awareness campaigns in the media and next to frequent used roads 5. Cycle lanes.
  18. Giant - Sealed Hubs M475 Hubs - Not sealed I think that sells it in its own... I would go Giant.
  19. Or give us a bank account number to help the PPA get these up. +100 for the pole (not) ad. But it has to be permanent. Authorities must chip in and provide real estate to put these up. We all can do our bit to get this going!
  20. Less is more! Especially with cyclists!
  21. This is quite a nice image! I love the "un posed" ones! Did you edit this one? Also, if I may, what kind of hardware do you use?
  22. Nope. I do not have one. The yellow does not go well with my car... and I do not like stickers on my car in any case... Maybe a visually more appealing, reflective at night one could do. Maybe just the outlines for on the rear window? Its a little higher than the bumper... Like those my family stickers?
  23. Nice!!!!
  24. Agreed! Light up a taxi if needs be as well, as it seems that you need to use violence to state your opinion in South Africa.
