  1. Do not forget cable ties...
  2. Uhm, so this means I must dope now, in order to beat team Medsheme? WTF? Blame someone for being the 7 time champion (for 7 years better than the rest)?!?! So next year we blame Contador for Sleck screwing up?!? No my friend. You blame yourself. If not... I am so glad that we don't share an office...
  3. SwartPiet actually has a point, tell the guys that they suck, and give them some tips... Now you bitch like a couple of girls about the jock in school on the hub. Either that, or learn to fix your bike yourself... In both scenarios something good may actually come from it...
  4. Thanks guys, I must say that I do not stretch enough, so that I will definitely look at for the next few weeks, otherwise, it is off to the doc...
  5. Well, thank you for the obvious, maybe some bad on my behalf as well... My bike setup is good, have been riding bike since forever, so I pretty much know what I want. As I said, it is the right knee, and we fooled around kicking some balls a while ago, and since then my knee is not lekker. I have even thought that it might be the cold weather as well...
  6. Hey Guys, I have a small issue with my right knee, so bad so that I have not rode for two to three months now... Now it is really not bad, but I just spent an hour on the trainer now, and towards the end (+- 45min) my knee started to grind a little. Now, the question is: 1. DO I ride it out on the trainer at high cadence & low load? 2. Get a knee Brace? 3. Get some kind of gel? If I could, I would like to stay well clear of a doctor for now, as the grinding is not that bad (yet).
  7. It seems that some of us actually work, as I have not read it yet...
  8. To be fair, this happened in the UK, where they do have bike lanes. But in this case, assuming this women did faint, Bikelanes wont help, she will just ride straight into them anyways. I am not taking her side, but rather pointing out that a bike lane would not have helped here. Once again, facts don't lie, so I would like to agree again!
  9. Well, the facts state that it is a woman who drove the car... My views: 1. If you drive either a sports vehicle, SUV or large Vehicle such as a 3 ton truck, you need to get some kind of advanced driving training specific to your vehicle. 2. If you "faint" and cause an accident, your licence should be withdrawn with immediate effect until such time that a medical screening proves you are fit to drive. 3. So much more reason for you and your children to wear helmets when you cycle, even though a helmet would not prevent serious damage from an impact such as this accident - it could still save your life... Remember, we have more idiots on our roads than the UK, with some drivers admitting on 94.7 that they have either bought their licenses or they just drive without one. Take that, taxis, people on cellphones and generally everybody that is irritated and tired - and you have the perfect mix for a whole lot of pain and death to follow. Essentially, you need to choose the roads that you cycle on with care and you need to keep your eyes open! Otherwise...
  10. LOL! That is actually what we should do... TAKE A STAND!
  11. A Hair dryer also works - but just be patient, and I was told by a panel beater that c cloth with meths also works...
  12. Nice pics! Or should I say NICE PICS!
  13. By saying that stretching is your friend, I meant pre race... Also, something that works for me, is a massage on the affected muscle, but this is quite a mission, as I am not double jointed, and you'll cramp 9 times out of 10 out somewhere in the bundus.... So, once I used my seat post - I sat down at the water point, grab it with a hand on each side, rested my calve on it, and started working up and down. I finished the race, dead last - but that day I built character with assistance of my GT...
  14. Man, ek het ook al strooi met FPC gehad, maar toe ek die dag 'n centerlock bout soek, wie help my? FPC.
  15. This is quite a topic to chat about, as my fix won't be your fix... So prevention is indeed better than cure. 1. Stretching is your friend. 2. Warm up before races. The high intensity is not expected by your muscles, as you do not train this way. Either train yourself for a intensive start or take your stationary trainer along, and at a high cadence under small load, "spin" for about 5-10 minutes before the race. You'll also be calmer, as the adrenalin of the event will not build up and screw up you starting plans. 3. Get variations in your training. I battle with cramps in my calves... Thus I do high cadence, high load and something in between. But, that is not all... Do calve extensions twice a week. Start with smaller reps (eg 8, 8, 12 & 10, 10, 14 & 12, 12, fail - or until you cannot any more). This also applies to leg extensions for upper leg or hamstring curls. 4. DO not forget about your diet. Not too much salt and a multi Vitamin - this will assist your body in absorption of all nutritional gooddies in your food, including the salt. 5. Last but not least - Rest. Your mind and body needs it!
  16. The oven goes to 450 degrees Fahrenheit, perhaps the biggest worry would then be the structural quality of the frame...
  17. But doesn't powder coating work with an oven?
  18. Sweet, I luckily have some very good contacts, thanx guys!
  19. Hi Guys. Just the one question, can you powder coat an alu MTB frame?
  20. Haha. True it is quite bad if you get a D@@S like that, that is why I moved from road to MTB... Some of the roadies were a bunch of idiots. But, race organizers should opt for single track only later in the ride, by then the field would have opened up...
