  1. Bummer, I missed the Pizza, but got ample beer! I have to be quite honest, but everywhere we went Friday, folks asked me what it was about. And my answer was simple: "We are having a ride through the city, to raise awareness and to get people to joint us on their bikes... Come join us Last Friday of September".
  2. ooh... so what is in the box, and at what final cost did it come?
  3. I would think this, as it takes the load off the rims and Tyres... http://www.cycloc.com/ But then you may scratch your bike...
  4. +100!! They had prawls in stock for my Mavic wheel that I could not find anywhere else... We specially ordered a brand new 2009 model GT in April of 2010... They will go to all lengths to make sure that you get what you need.
  5. Hmmm, quite interesting! I had a look at conti belts when I did my initial spec and calculations. It will be interesting to see what it will retail for...
  6. This is all good and well that we can get all these bikes... They also look so pretty. But with no local distributor for Gates, no viable alternative to Gates, we are screwed here in Africa...
  7. PM Sent...
  8. I have a R900 order... But that is inclusive of R99 postage.
  9. Interesting to see this one... How about all the conspiracy theory fellas that say Neil was never on the moon? You will always have negativity out there. How you choose to address it, is key. According to me, Lance won, he also inspired me to cycle and to take any challenge head on. USADA can strip him of the titles, but they cannot strip his legacy. That is the part that I choose to remember. Say what you want, I would like to be half the man that he is!
  10. ps... I will post some pics of my Chained SS as soon as it is done...
  11. It is actually a shame... On paper there is so many benefits. But ja... Chains is here to stay for a while longer...
  12. Ok, so here it is... After lots of fights and so, I will not be doing the SS Belt drive... I have conferred with several engineering firms, belt suppliers etc, and very few people want to help you out if you build a prototype (1 of something). Unfortunately I do not have the right connections. SO I will take the bucks, and blow it on red chainring bolts etc...
  13. This sommer makes your heart go warm! Well done CWC!!!
  14. I did quite a lot of research on the Camera before buying, My biggest points were: Portability, Zoom, Picture quality, Ease of use (as I am quite the pro novice ) The camera is quite impressive for a "mik and druk", you do not have the opportunity to shoot RAW, and some more professional options (shutter only goes up to 15 seconds), with with 16MP, 21x Zoom, nice big amoled screen, I cannot complain. It also has some other features including wifi connectivity, GPS Geo tagging, and a 8 frame per second burst (but it takes about 5 sec to save). I compared it to the Canon SX260HS and the sony Cybershot HX30. The latter you do not get here, and I did not like the looks of the Canon. The Sony is quite the "Mik and Druk" to have...
  15. Sjoe, I have got a lot to learn... Bought myself a Samsung WB850F (mik and druk) the other day, and took thes just by mocking about:
  16. Oh my belt drive SS will become my weapon of choice at the Critical Mass events...
  17. Yay! More like minded people. I am actually busy with the very same thing, and was also looking at Gates and some other alternatives.Unfortunately, you need the frame and quite a few other goodies, never-mind the +R2K to get just the drive of the system. SO, I have started with a locally fabricated product. I will quite possibly have the bike finished in the next month or two, as the parts have to be machined. Once done, I will be able to give a rough idea of taking an old aluminium frame, "breaking" it, and converting to belt drive. For my project, I will be using a GT Avalanche frame. Hopefully the end product will be as per my thoughts. Prost: 1. No Oil 2. Lasts between 2 and 10 times longer than a chain 3. Only replace the worn belt 4. It is quieter than a chain drive 5. +- the same weight for the full system. Cons: 1. You need the correct frame (or you have to modify it) 2. Belt cannot be broken (shortened or lengthened) 3. It will be a little pricey (looking at roughly R1300 for the full drive system - has to be confirmed first)
  18. Where is the "Ek laaik die thread kwaai" Button? +! Burry!
  19. This is indeed going to be interesting... Andy is also back... Think he's grown a pair in the off season now?
  20. Oe oe... And post 500 is to see the poef spat...
  21. And also the pedaling in the air?!?
