  1. I like Robbie's Tweets about it: RobbieHunter If ppl say he never knew,I doubt it.He's got a radio and his Team mate Vino was on the wheel and saw it clearly..any ways just my opinion! RobbieHunter If Contador had of waited he would have won the heart of the world like this he got a yellow jersey on his back.but its always gonna be a ?
  2. Yes, I would have taken it, but then again, I am desperate and a style-free zone...
  3. They are both on SRAM dickwad.
  4. Yes, which makes it even worse. A move devoid of any style or sportsmanship.
  5. Wow, what an ignorant statement. Think before you type
  6. I can't disagree more. People remember every bit of detail and this will taint his victory (if he wins). He is strong enough to win this without taking advantage of this. It also spoils the battle.
  7. Probably not if it is on private land, but that would be the case for bicycles too ;-) Then it would be up to the organisers whether they require it I guess
  8. I just read the bit on the other Dutch superstitions and I must say they are all funny, except for the one where a guy feels he has to wear another blokes underpants.... Sporting superstitions Sportsmen and women are often superstitious and the Dutch football team has also been known to keep strange habits. Johan Cruijff always made sure he left the changing room last, tapped the goal keeper’s stomach and spat his chewing gum over the centre line before the first whistle blew. Ajax player Sjaak Swart had his daughter kiss his shoes before matches and Gerrie Mühren sometimes used to wear Swart’s underwear. Dutch Goalie Hans van Breukelen (European champion in 1988) wore a medal with a picture of Pope John XXIII
  9. Hey dude, the proof is there: The Dutch made it to the semi finals. Something they did not do last time when they had no PB bands!! Plus, did you see how straight that shot from Gio went when he hit it. Man, that thing went BOOM into the net with PERFECT BALANCE and did you see how perfectly balanced De Jonge placed his studs on the chest of the Spanish whinger?! That was perfect balance. Clearly they MUST work. I mean, would Yolanthe Cabau van Kasbergen's boyfriend lie to us? (Anyone want to see pics of Wesley's chick? It's worth it...)
  10. Come on guys this is serious. We need to balance out our friend here. Hey, if it worked for the Dutch soccer team, who are we to argue?! Flaky Wesley Snijder bought the whole team wristbands. Unfortunately it did not help them time their tackles any better or avoid placing their studs on the chest of their opponents. Hmmm.... Our Wesley: "I first thought it was all nonsense, but I really feel better, more balanced." Other players in the Dutch national team have added the white wristband to their orange-coloured outfit, such as Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Rafael van der Vaart and Arjen Robben, who said, "Even if it only improves me by half a percent, I will still wear it." Dirk Kuyt has said he is of exactly the same sentiment. Magic wristband keeps Dutch squad balanced
  11. Phew, order has been restored to the universe...
  12. DO A SEARCH AND SAVE US THE GRIEF!!!! BOB WHERE ARE YOU?!!!!!!!!!!
  13. except that a Sunday morning mtb organized ride is 5x less expensive. How does that work?!?!?
  14. Swiss, mamparra/moegoe always gets his knickers in a twist when we compare SA to the rest of the world so I won't. Well, OK, I will, but only because you asked! In Holland you either get expensive timed big events which are quite expensive, but they are also quite infrequent. It's only the Bart Brentjens Challenge and some of the Beach Races that do this and they are very slick. What they do have here which is very reasonable (2 or 3 Euros per race!) are "toertochten" (touring rides), which are organised by the local bike clubs and have arrowed routes, sometimes snacks and maybe a pamphlet or two to pick up, but no timing and no frills. You just turn up between 8:00 and 10:00, sign on, pay and ride. No starting groups, no bitching about Winningtime/Racetec/whoever. You just get on your bike and ride. This would be perfect for SA to bring down the costs, but I fear everyone in SA wants to be timed and treated like a king/queen with timing and goodie bags and medals.
  15. Sorry. Did I ever mention that I'm a slow learner? I pop my head in here and it's the same ol'shite. It's like deja vu all over again and again and again...
  16. Every year people bitch about the costs and every year it is massively over crowded, so it seems to answer your question: nobody cares. There are so many trails in the Cape, why don't you just go and ride one which is bound to be less crowded on that day? That way you save yourself a lot of pain and bitching and moaning. Maybe if people stay away costs will come down, but the truth is people don't stay away!
  17. Hello, is this the Capie moan of the day? I've missed these...
  18. OK, during the last four weeks I've gone up Ventoux, Alpe d'Huez and the Galibier and the one thing I can tell you is that they are steep. Constantly. In Cape Town I rode everywhere with my 39-23 or sometimes a 39-25 just for the extra luxury. That would be mindlessly stupid on Ventoux unless you want to proove a point, but I did it with a compact crank and a 11-28 cassette and STILL wanted more gears!!! The long relentless 8/9/10% climbs are murder on you cadance and knees. My advice to anyone who comes and rides in Europe is get at least a compacyt crank with a 28 gear or preferably a tripple! Yes, it is that bad, but I love it!
  19. Yip, also makes me proud that I worked at Engen! Sounds like Engen really got behind the right angle. Congrats to the marketing guys in getting it right and being no.1!
  20. Just LOVE the Mondrian colour scheme. One day when I'm big...
  21. Had mine fly off the handlebar because I didn't clip it in properly and has some nice personalised scratches now and the rubber USB cover broke off after a couple of weeks, but apart from that it records data beautifully and sits reasonably secure. Just had some download issues where it did not want to download data from the very last ride. Cleared the memory and seems to be OK now, but I know it can sometimes be a bit temperamental (according to others) Nice piece of kit even if it is not as bombproof as my old Polar, and I aint going back! NAvigation is not the greatest (compared to other Garmin products I have) and I think they can improve the text display on screen (very crowded), but it's the best out there for cycling.
  22. At least I know that Jens never doped!!! I know that the other riders in his team lick the sweat from his legs for it's performance enhancing effects, but I'm pretty sure that's legal...
  23. BWAHAHAHAHHA!!!!!!!! Jan is king. That dude rocked and I miss his fat ass.
  24. Sorry, but that's impossible. That pic is of Frank. If you would like I could post you pics of Andy at this year's Tour of Luxembourg where he is riding in his National Champ kit. Also, Frank rode with number one and furthermore, anyone who has seen the Schlecks before cn spot the difference. Just for the record: both Andi and Frank are noted as being 1,86 and 67kg. Almost identical twins (but you can tell them apart by their kit ;-)
  25. Hmmm, those pics look suspiciously like Frank, not Andy. Not a heavyweight himself...
