Finish my 3rd Ironman Finish my 5th Transbaviaans Sub-3 OFM Classic (current best 3.02) Try my hand at my first stage race (finances permitting) Finish building my new SS, have really enjoyed getting into SS'ing this year. Spend Waaayyyyy more time on my SS, chilled rides with my wife and mates with load of taking pictures, creating memories and coffee stops.

Very true!!! I mix my training up with slow coffee runs with friends and family and have also recently built a SS. It has opened up a new world!!! Pure enjoyment all over again, getting back to the 'basics'. Loving it so much that I'm gonna get a On-One Inbred!!!

There was a couple of guys in similar kit to yours in our group, Enduro/Endura or something? Second the thanks to the CycleWorld guys. I did a pull on the N1 for a bit but couldn't keep the pace for long.

Maybe I'm losing my sense of humour then...but I have never found comments like that funny. Very true. I guess they check the roads the day before the event but there will always be broken glass around. Contributed by bottles and the ridiculous amount of car accidents we have. Traffic enforcement doesn't exist in Bloem.... Come to think of it, there was also an uncovered drain type thing on the way up Union Road which could surely have been closed.

Almost forgot, thanks to the organisers for a well run race. Marshalling was also good and the traffic cops handled the intersections well...except when we turned into the Maselspoort Road a big Mercedes SUV (G class I think) came raring in and almost took the front of the bunch out...Can't remember whether there was a traffic officer present. I think they should also put up some warnings for the section of road where it narrows from 2 to 1 lane close to the casino, might be where the B crash took place? Last year there were crashes here as well. One other thing that bothered me was the announcer's sexist comments, or was it just me perceiving it like that? He kept going on about the dancers (which were probably mostly school girls) and what they got up to and the 'old omies' looking like they were taking Viagra etc etc.

Well done Oscar and also to Cassie, still a good time with all the cramps! Aish, mechanicals are never nice and so close to the end! Garf might have jinxed himself a little on this here thread earlier... Also saw Willie at the top of Albrecht and shouted for that beer...apparently it was on his chair... Just a correction, did not ride 3.01 but 3:02:35 according to Racetec.

Not much wind to speak of. Rode into it a bit on the N1 going out but nothing hectic. Probably 10 - 15km/h I guess.

Hoe het dit gegaan manne? My bene het gesukkel aan die begin maar kon darem by die voorste bondel uitkom. Hills het my bietjie gekos en ek het ligte krampe in die bobene begin voel. Pitstop drag was maar alleen en het die laaste 10km ingeTT. Daai 'mistieke' sub 3 net gemis. 3.01. Jammer om te hoor van die krampe Cassie. Takalanie, waar het jy toe opgeeindig, jy was nog by by Noordstad. Garf, julle seker sub 3 gekry met die goeie weer?

Eish the wind was a bit bad today and quite chilly at the start. Broke my chain within 1km from the start (yes, I was the guy standing next to the road with the WHOLE field passing me) and had some issues again with the chain somehow jumping off the tensioner jockey wheel and slotting inbetween that and the metal ring. So, spend about 15min on mechanicals. Serves me right for putting on an old chain the day before the race... Singlespeed was lekker, het 'n paar mense ingehaal op veral die opdraendes en wanneer mens bietjie teen die wind gery het maar ook bietjie uitgespin op die flats. Was ongeveer 03.35 daar buite skat. My rytyd se 3.20 maar ek skat ekt so 15min. op die ketting regmake spandeer. Bene nogals lam, gaan interessant wees om te sien wat is oor in die tank vir more...

Ekt skoon van die kouse vergeet!! Ekt nog so 3 pare maar 2 van hulle het bietjie ekstra ventilasie gate...Het geles,swartes en wittes.

Ek het net gou my nommers gaan kry en nie gebrowse nie, sal more na die mtb bietjie rondkyk. Moet se die 'goodie bag' het 'n paar Rand se goed in. Net die Airmune bruistablette is al R50 'n 'botteltjie'. En my vrou kan meeste van die ander goed daarin gebruik.

Might be AL-BL only. From there on in everybody is at 5min. apart. Probably putting racing tandems or the V groups in between then or something. I'm in CL @ 07.00. Know BL is at 06:55 and DL 07.05 and so on. MTB is also 5min. apart.

Don't know about that. The sms's we've been receiving with starting times have it at 5min. apart as it was last year?

Hy het op daai stadium...ons het juis gejaag om die voorkant van die groep te vang voor die N1 want ons het soos gewoonlik aan die agterkant weggespring. Dink hierdie is op die Pelissier Brug.
