  1. I like what the organisers have done with the planning of the route. Anything can happen right up to the last day into Paris. I reckon stages 19 & especially 20 will still be able to cause a major shake-up. They will both be targeted for major time gains, 19 may be suited for an early break on the 2 HC blimbs ala Andy Schleck a couple of years back when he scored some time on Cadel from 70km out and 20 is nice and short for major attacks to happen and both these after a day of climbing Alp'dUez twice!!!
  2. I must confess, I do like using my racebag. Especially the 2012 one, serious cred in that
  3. There was a guy in the spinning class the other day with a one-piece!!! With these strange cut-outs around the waist area...
  4. Don't know if you are after pictures but I use this, loads of extra info and you can check out the various stages and how the race progress 'virtually' as well. http://www.letour.fr/le-tour/2013/us/live/aso/
  5. I reckon RLT will have a good tour and finish top 3/5 in the team standings.
  6. We usually plan for a 16 hour ride give or take an hour. For the 1st box (2nd checkpoint) we usually pack some biltong/droewors/sweets depending on rider needs as wells as a refill mix for our bottles. If you plan on 15 hours you should pack your lights in the 2nd box (3rd Checkpoint). We usually pack some warm clothing / change of clothes into the 3rd container (4th checkpoint) as the descend from Bergplaas can be chilly even in good/warm weather. You don't really need to pack extra food as the checkpoints are well stocked with a good variety of stuff. Water is available throughout the Kloof and at all checkpoints. The 1st 100km is quite quick and you can comfortably go at 20+ km/h over the 1st 109km. This is when the race actually start and speeds drop quite considerably from here.
  7. I don't mind Silverback, the specific frame is quite light. Just a pity all the 'action' and people in the know does NOT live in Bloem. The simplicity of a SS rigid appeals to me a lot.
  8. Thought so...Have been riding a 26 HT geared 100mm travel for about 4 years now and have been thinking of getting a 29er(especially for the type of offroad riding available here in Bloem) and converting the 26er to SS. Thought the Silverback rigid SS in the classifieds was a good deal and a good starting point though. Doing my 4th Trans this year and was toying with the idea of tackling it on the 29er... But I get what you are saying about the 'personal' experience.
  9. What does one do, build it rather?
  10. So you think I should just go ahead and buy the Silverback in the classifieds?
  11. 1st time I've heard this, awesome! Reminds me a bit of Mumford & Sons. Have seen The Crow plenty of times when DNA Strings was still going...
  12. RIP. He gave me loads of advice for my 1st Baviaans here on the Hub and was stoked to briefly meet him and his brother that year. Super friendly guys. Condolences to the family.
  13. Don't you think Alp d'Huez is a bit 'wasted' so early in the stage?
  14. Bloemfontein, nice and central But then again, Bloem is actually still a 'dorp'.
  15. Thanks for the updates jcza
  16. Are all the main manne still together? Froome, Contador, Valverde, JRod, Sanchez?
  17. Just heard this on 5FM, awesome!!!
  18. Ek ken actually die 'oom' wat Daantjie Kat was!!!
  19. Felt like I had to ride, did a 45km on the mtb yesterday and also kept thinking of him...Tried to hammer a couple of climbs that little bit more. Was going to do a short brickrun today(using the roadbike). Ended up just doing the run, couldn't get myself to get on the roadbike.
  20. IMSA 2012-Athleteinfoguide (Version 3)1.pdf Added file.
  21. Used the seconding station this year for a warm top on the run. Saved me for sure. But yes, as per above posts that is how I have it as far as the rules are for IMSA. I have the 2012 info guide in pdf, which I can mail to you if you like Garfield?
  22. Agree with you guys, but I guess she has a MAJOR following and sort of revolutionised talk shows on the most influential medium for the 'haus-fraus' all over the world.
