  1. I reckon Admin should put something in place that for every post a member makes one is counted towards Holy Roller's(Tumbles) counter to get him to the top and that he remains there...although at the rate Dale posts that might not even be enough
  2. Yip, just you, 361 exactly. Neutral zone of about 4km not included.
  3. Race office just replied to my email. The route team confirmed that the distances as per the website, specifically those for the 2 x Rooiberg WP's are incorrect and will be rectified on the website this week. They have the top of Rooiberg at 255km but did not specify whether this included the neutral zone, I guess it doesn't.
  4. Thanks for the heads-up on the medical guys. I just got an email back from them saying that the route team will check the distances queried and revert.
  5. Yip so that sounds about right. When Waldo mentioned it on this thread I remembered you also mentioned it in your race report last year. I emailed them about it yesterday to check but no response as yet.
  6. No I don't think that is the case. Neutral zone was about 4km's and according to my file from last year the top of Rooiberg was at 252km(excl neutral zone), they have that as the WP at the bottom and the top as 264km. Another indicator is that they have Calitzdorp at 280km which is correct but it is definitely not only 16km from the top of Rooiberg to CP3. What do you have from last year?
  7. The Race Rules pdf is a bit muddled, has some info/dates from 2018 in it. I still agree with Waldo regarding the distance markers for the 2 x Rooiberg WP's, they seem to be out by about 10km as the other points are all correct? Don't see anything about the compulsory medical we had to do last year or am I missing something?
  8. Yes they did, maybe just another route in/out? It was mentioned somewhere that they will be cutting out some tar sections.
  9. Yip that would make sense, bakkie with a couple of cans of water for an emergency.
  10. I know it is cooler so most people do not hydrate as much, but don't you think it is a bit of a stretch for the very back markers/if something goes wrong to go without water? I know, we must plan, but the cut-off time is 7 hours to that point so it has been anticipated that someone might take that long? Quite a stretch...
  11. Looks like the updated route is up on the website. If I am reading it correctly, looks like they dropped the 1st WP at the 36km or so mark and the 2 Rooiberg WP's marked as permanent.
  12. I'm actually quite excited, if only for the fact that my cousin will ride his first one and I will have some company. Entered solo but will try and ride together, Will probably also sit on the same mark km wise. Very true, on such a long event lots can go wrong, I guess I've just had luck on my side so far when it comes to not having a DNF.
  13. You are overtraining, stop now I guess it depends on what your goal is and what you know you are capable of, but if those were my numbers and times I will not be worried at all... That said, after 12 hours on a bike it becomes more and more mental by the hour, or is that minute...
  14. Will it ever be enough....? I'm up to about 2200km YTD and spending roughly 8hrs a week on the bike at the moment, with a couple of strength and core sessions a week thrown in. Will hopefully be able to improve on my 28 hour of last year....as long as my wonky knees behave I would like to finish in 24. Forgot to add, not much climbing in my riding, which will surely bite me in the butt.
  15. That would be true if the race actually started on top of Sani Pass...Nope, any car is fine. Agree with Escapee, no need for the mech package in my opinion, make sure your bike is in good working order. Yip, sure they will sell you parts, you might have to wait in line for a service etc but you will be able to of needed.
  16. Confirmed on Velonews - Porte and Rolland also changing schedules: https://www.velonews.com/2019/03/news/setbacks-injuries-force-valverde-porte-rolland-to-reshuffle-schedules_486590
  17. Edit: Double post - hub acting up again?
  18. I think most of us on here share your sentiments regarding Sagan...but was referring to the current World Champ. I think it might have been on my Supersport app, will try and find another link. He is battling with illness if I remember correctly and will be out until after San Remo. But I will try and confirm.
  19. I read somewhere that the World Champ is out, until after San Remo.
  20. You still riding 360ne? Awesome base to have!
  21. Ek kan my net indink. Sorry guys I'm busy derailing an awesome thread, will take it elsewhere.
  22. It looks like conditions were terrible judging by the results alone. Looks like more than 50% on entrants on the 'full' had a DNF. Well done for giving it a go.

    Cricket......

Yip will be interesting to see what team we field with Markram and Amla under an injury cloud and Faf suspended, also De Bruyn is really struggling.
