  1. I've had my Bell for 8 years and this thread spooked me into buying a new lid this weekend! Actually never thought of the lifespan before...

    Cricket......

What does the wicket look like or are we just bowling pies?

    Cricket......

Well, two of us thinking that might just make it true You might be right, I seem to recall issues around the 'warning' but can't remember what exactly.

Current ODI, pegging it back a little after the wicket fell. 83/1 after 11

Who was run out like that when we just got back into International cricket? Seem to think it was Pieter Kirsten being run out by Kapil Dev or someone 'similar'...Was warned a couple of times when backing up and he then ran him out. Was a bit controversial back then.
  6. Maybe for alliteration purposes...Myles Mayhew RecoMMends Magic Mary
  7. Agree. Would shift the Canis to the back and go with Ibex front.

100 up for # and Cook into the 90's, 221/1. Anybody watching, what is the wicket like?

350 will be VERY difficult to chase, anything above 300 will be a competitive score I think.

Very much so. Looked like AB had the same idea when he came out, dominate the attack.

Root and Stokes currently caning it...Morris going over 5.00 p/over again...flashbacks of Newlands...

Unfortunately we are going to feel the void that Jacques Henry Kallis left for a long time to come... At this point in time Morris seems to be gunning for the allrounder spot but I agree, he needs to fulfill his primary role of bowling, just like JK had to do with his batting. I heard some of the commentators mention that England did not bowl very well in the 1st session so we are very lucky to be where we are it seems.
  13. I have a 2.25 Onza Canis on my SS as a front, although not strictly a front only tyre I am very happy with it.
  14. Yip. I'm running a 2.25 Ardent on the front and a 2.1 Crossmark on the back. Perfect combo in my opinion for what we ride in Bloem and surrounds. As mentioned before it is a heavy combo but very solid.
  15. I have been running that combo for a couple of years now, no issues. We do not have a lot of loose gravel in Bloem so cannot comment on that. We have some rocky terrain. It is a heavy combo but in my experience bulletproof when it comes to punctures etc.
  16. What a great movie, must watch it again some time.
  17. I was thinking the same thing...I already started saving for it my head but then scrolled down and saw the price...
  18. Sorry Hairy....
  19. He put a knee into the face of an opponent lying on the ground at a ruck. I think it is justified.

I heard one of the commentators say that now-a-days you should rather double at 35.

Apparently Narine did not go to the WC for personal reasons, did not make himself available.

Yeah, he keeps getting out on the offside. I think both him and Dale are trying a bit too hard. Both have lost some rhythm.

I''m a bit worried about QdK...Do you guys reckon they would contemplate AB taking the gloves again, putting Rilee in to open with Amla, Duminy to come back and dropping Behardien?

I always wonder how good a captain 'really' is. Not what is said in the media by the Coach (what else must he say) but whether he can really lead the team on a technical, inspirational and 'mind' level (too lazy to make sure I spell psycho.. whatever right ). I mean, AB is a great player but is he a great captain?

I will probably be slated for this and not many would agree, but I think that WC games should be played as day games only. Yes, all the arguments like 'if you are good enough you should be able to win regardless of batting under lights or not' etc etc are valid but: I just think that conditions should be the same or near as close as possible for both teams and in day/night games this simply is not the case, I don't think the toss should play that big a part in deciding who wins. Ok, flame away guys!
