  1. Got my shoes yesterday. So now my weekly exercise pay for a pair of shoes and the applewatch. I think it only made sense to take discovery up on the shoes offer since I need to make the points for the watch anyway.
  2. Thanks, wanted to see the route , Will by doing it next year(hopefully the event will be on). So will try to do the route if I am in the area.
  3. Sorry to hear, maybe the field was bigger than expected. I for one did not take a medal and I am quite sure Spinnekop did not either although he reached the table first. Go visit Speke Facebook page, maybe you can at least get a nice picture of yourself as a memory.
  4. Think it was mostly hard for us due to you making it hard(and having fun) on the back section with wind from the left. Was nice to see the numbers , I would not want Rooiwal races to disappear.
  5. Event had a good turn out. With the wind blowing had a good workout before this weeks R4S.
  6. Still good price, Although our clubride is very much like a race, I will be thereSaturday. Entering up front makes it much easier for me, as long as you do not have to go and get the number the day before.
  7. I have been the cyclist in red going over the first fallen guy, woke up in Hospital. Luckily no cliffes in the Free State
  8. On 59 000 after January so still have 31 000 to go but should not be an issue. thought it would be more difficult to get point when the initial revised system came out for the year. As me and my wife still have around 50 000 point to achieve it should be well within reach without fitness assessments I used to do in previous years.
  9. Is there a route map anywhere for the run and bike leg?
  10. Anybody have the Midlands Ultra or the Prestige Ultra Run and Ride route maps on Strava? Will appreciate if you can share.
  11. I agree, used to do the fitness assessment but will not anymore the cost do not justify it. It is R350 for me and my wife meaning R700 if I remember correctly to get 10% extra at SMW. So I then need to buy at least R7000 worth of stuff from them, which I will not normally.
  12. Also activated the shoe booster as I achieve the points and like you have the apple watch anyway. Is there anything specifically you need to do when buying the shoes? Send them the info or do they only go on the card statement?
  13. Me Thinks it is 9
  14. The combustion must be when piston is on its way down , if before Top it will create force in wrong direction, If right at the Top the force will be transferred stragth onto Crankshaft and bearings.
  15. I will carry on my normal biking and work on my swim technique for next 2-3 months and then start the running bit. Seeing that I have 10 months to get ready I feel 8 months for the run should be OK.
  16. Did my first swim today. 800m in around 30 minutes, will have to do some work to get to 1:40 /100m. Will have to work hard on technique me thinks.
  17. Planning to do the Midlands Ultra in November. Have not done a Triathlon since I did 5FM Triathlon about 20 years ago. Have not done much swimming in ages but think the technique will hopefully still be there but the scary bit for me is the running. 21 km on its own feels far enough let alone after a 2 km swim and 90km cycle. But there is plenty of time. I selected this one as I feel one should not need a wetsuit for Midlands especially that time of year.
  18. Fitness assessment included in 30 000 The Health Assessment is not included in the 30 000 cap
  19. Have the Applewatch now for nine months, 8 with the new points system. Have not missed one week target yet. Sorry correction did miss one week but I think that month had 5 Fridays and achieved target for 4 so have not paid any money for the watch since receiving it.
  20. Jip did my Health check today. The smoking decleration will give you points but depends how many other goals you reach for the amount you get. All Vitality points automatically reflect on your Vitality Points Monitor within two weeks. Assessment Goal Range Weight assessment which includes weight, height and waist circumference for men and women 18 years and over Body Mass Index (BMI) between 18.5 and 24.9 OR BMI between 25 – 29.9, and a waist circumference of less than 94cm for males and less than 80cm for females Blood pressure Reading of 140mmHg/90mmHg or less Glucose Reading of less than 7.8 mmol/l Cholesterol Reading of less than 5 mmol/l Smoking status Non-smoker for a minimum of 12 months
  21. I think I will join you on the day.
  22. Yes, I have send them a mail asking about this an hour or so before the mail received from them, However as Gerald indicates if you do the races to get 50% money back you are covered, however I am also thinking about it. If I break even it is Nice , but I am part of another cycling club @R500 amonth, so to make it worth it I should get a bit more than I pay, In 2016 definitely did, Got 50% for R4S, Jacaranda Classic, Carnival City,94.7 & 100% for Emperors, and 25% for another one. This year might just give it a skip and check again in 2018, or might just move to the Running option, as you then do not have to pay the R300 shoebooster.
  23. If possible always willing to join, but as Gerald in VB most of the time , but if we can ride together will not mind moving back to A. Maybe I will need to train a bit harder to be able to keep up though, because it sounds easy 1 minute in the front and eleven rest but not always that way.
  24. Hi, Yes I am on strava, I think Our times is one second different on strava, but the same on Racetec. My pictures more or less the same. Tried to smile on Mandela bridge but for the rest could not really.
  25. A bit late but I see for most this could have been my feedback as well until the finish time, Would have liked to meet you seeing we actually spend 150 minutes on the road together.
