  1. Will it be possible to show the number of people taking part?
  2. Just for clarity can the 4hours therefore also be done in any week. Away with the family , not sure if i can get in a 4 hour ride but will do it if I have to get it in this week.
  3. Hi, I have Merida Big Nine with the normal Jalco Big Nine rims, I bought a set of Maxxis Crossmark LUST Tyrs but now worried if it will work on the rims since I do not currently have tubeless. Bought them as they tyres on at moment is crossmark .
  4. do you get live pictures or news updates. I have also cancelled my DSTV due to moving, wife no longer moving etc. Missing Rugby every now and then but will definetaly miss the cycling. So if I can get help on how to see this it will be appreciated. I guess you need a lot of data for this though?
  5. Hi , i Am truely astonished at what is going on here. Admittedly I was looking forward to saving too which I am not gonna get and I am not joining the club. But in the end It is a cycling or running club that they started with some benefits, Which we hoped would have been better. The cycle club I belong to is R500 a year. Pretty much on par with Vitality but I do not get a shirt , csa membership and no money back for any events. So Although I will not be able to milk any cow for savings this is not really that bad a deal. Like a few guys said for newbie cyclist that get a nice shirt with the R600 . And a few buck on entries here and there. I must say I do not see the need to carry on like you guys are.
  6. Think its a brilliant way , Not sure what UCI will say but assumed they cleared it when I saw the post. It is also almost uncanny how almost the whole team fits in into the alphabet. Only very few that had to be given letters that does not match.
  7. I would guess it would be close to this barring injuries J Thompson L Meintjies N Berhane M Kudus R V Rensburg E Boason Hagen S Cummings T Bos T Farrar Lets see how far I am off.
  8. They have stated that the Team will by 60% African as far as I remember. Not sure about the figure but they have given a figure upfront. But that gives around 5 African a chance. Domestiques and Climbers , while leaving the sprinting to the Europeans. RJVR can come in as sprinter if he performs well though.
  9. Hi, This is reply on some questions I asked. . Your R600 cycling fee includes a starter pack as well as your provincial and CSA licenses. Team Vitality covers the cost of these licenses and will send you confirmation once you have been registered. If you would like a racing license to compete in elite or age groups, you would have to do this registration on your own, Team Vitality will not cover this cost on your behalf. The shirt included in the cycling starter pack is a proper cycling jersey and the voucher will be redeemable online. Trust that this assists you and we are excited with the possibility of having you part of Team Vitality. Regards, Team Vitality
  10. Contacted Organisers , They indicated that there will be seeding for the 2015 event.
  11. Also looking forward to it. Probably the 45 km as my only previous MTB events were 30km and the 40km Nissan Trailseeker , I might need to just test myself first although I would actually like the challenge of the 80 km event.
  12. Maybe just get a Daylicense for first one or two events of the year? The CSA membership is not that much anyway. Discovery will not pay for Racing licence only the CSA membership.
  13. Got reply as well and was informed CSA Membership included as Gerald said as well as fact that Cyclist will get Cycling jersey. I want to enter races at start of year though , so do not really want to wait for February for my license.
  14. Also no problem for me got to the 90 000 points in May already, My wife did not really do much either but had her workouts etc as back up. Fitness tests, and annual health check up makes huge difference.
  15. Would be Nice If Sbiragli for MTN can get there, but it does not seem they are working as team, In the last sprint he and Ciolek was sprinting next to each other and always to far back. If One can give lead out to the other maybe they can get top3.
  16. Have to Agree , I have Ryder 35 And have been hppy with it 98% of the time. The guys have helped me with excelent service on 2% of the cases i had issues with my belt.
  17. Unfortuanately , Mine is currently fading badly showing that My time has been hijacked by work and other commitments, Hope I can get it going again by the weekend.
  18. Also joined but Do not know the course so can not say that I have really informed decisions in my team choice , but hopefully they all finish.
  19. A bit Bicycling but not that much anymore as they tend to always cater for the novice. Repeat there stories abd carry tips on how to get fit & strong with not much training all the time.
  20. Did not read al the replies but I fall in your catogary and from experience found I use around 600 Calories an hour when training and between 1000-1100 calories an hour racing. This will be @around 85% max heartrate and around a 3 hour Argus pace or 2h30 min 94.7 pace.
  21. Decided to join in the end. We started at -2 degrees and after 6 weeks of no cycling early winter did not expect much but my training put in since June at least stay with front bunch and were able to assist in pacing the first break back. Felt my legs though in last 30 km as this was first time in 4 months I did 60 km on the bike. Looking forward to the spring after this one.

  24. Not really fit so will use as training ride, just do not know if I want to pay to do training ride, so will see.
  25. Not really that Flat , but no real big climbs , so profile will not really help you , think there is two hills on the route of 30 km. Will be doing it as with my previos try had to stop after first lap of 30 km due to mechanical. Us roadies not yet to used to fixing deraileurs on the go. Will see how my little experience of the course helps. Thinks it is not to bad a course. Quite flat Some sandy sections Some single track One longish downhill dirt road with sandy patches One climb with bit of loose rocks Otherwise a noice route on farm with nothing special but not to bad.
