  1. Went Over the bars today and came down hard after my chain came of just before I wanted to put power down while standing. E few ribs are quite tender but will hopefully be there in two weeks.
  2. Will be there for the 35km this year , did the 40 last year and was planning to do the long one but dislocated shoulder late last year and since then mainly been on road bike. So will do the 35 km again and look at the 75km next year. Will be treated in the FNB tent again this year so looking forward to the race.

  4. I normally average around 85% for VB races that is between 2-3 hours.Chasing attacks or attacking at 90-95% and then coasting at around 75-80% inbetween. In the Emperors though my average was below the 80% as we rode mostly in peleton with not much attacking. For training I struggle it would be a tough day if I average 75% as There is always the warm up , and cool down in the last few km's. My Max Heart rate is pretty much in line with the 220 minus age as well.

  6. Above 50% is not training. Above 70% is not really an issue and can be achieved easily 5 times per week.
  7. Maybe move to slightly heavier gear/slower cadence. This will tax the legs a bit more and give the lungs a breather.
  8. Sad to miss this years event. Wanted to see if I can up my total laps by one or two this year.
  9. Would love to be included in a team but I guess that is not going to happen.
  10. Would also like to do this, but struggling to really get into a team for events like this since moving to PTA. My team from Bloemfontein I always did the DC with will be there though.

I could use the R350 for Chain ring bolts and new tubes instead. Thanks for the sterri stumpies at the end of the race. Thanks for my 42mm Aplle watch I could get for R350.00 Thanks for my free gym membership with Virgin where I can use the Wattbike that I would otherwise not be able to use. And I guess last but not least as this is why we have the Medical Aid. Thanks for covering all our costs when my son was hospitalised last week for Pneumonia. Can not really say thank you to a hospital that charges R900 for the use of the Emergency room until he was transferred but I guess that is why our medical aid is so expensive.
  12. It works but not great . It update Garmin , which sometimes takes quite a long time. However I have seen that it then uploads my points to discovery. However I need to delink and link to GC every time for the points to reflect on Discovery, which is a bit of schlep but I guess I can do that once a week.
  13. Also asked for the free entry as I was planning to enter today. Entries is closing on Monday, so I hope we get confirmation by then. Also got the 42 mm Apple Watch yesterday. Seems like my lucky week. Had a list of 11 smoothies to claim yesterday, took four will take some more over the weekend. Vitality working for me so far. Had around 5000-6000 points last week.
  14. Doing the same again, was also thinking they might exclude unknown devices, but lets see maybe mine will also coming right. Do not feel I am cheating as I have Heart monitor etc. Just not Garmin. So I am doing the exercise and the point system is not an issue as long as I get my workouts uploaded.

  16. Hi, Did sync on tapiriik. All activities synced onto Connect until the 2nd March. Checked this morning and Connect was paused. Reconnected and pressed sync again. Has been Queueing since 06:00. But still only data up to 2nd March Appears on Connect. Discovery also indicate that it has not received any data from connect. Anybody that can assist or have explanation? Edited: See discovery now receiving info from Connect. Now just to get Tapiriik past the queueing bit
  17. Nobody going for GC so , they were not going full out I think. They are only targeting stage wins
  18. Agreed that the new points system is quite hectic , but think it is the move from too easy , to quite difficult that makes it seem worse. Two Interval sessions a week and two sessions on the road of 90 minutes or more above 70% will get you 1200 points most of the time. Agreed that Rest week is not really to be found anywhere. Just did an hour interval session @ 85% average HR which made me realise it is not impossible. Think runners will have more of an issue as they do not tend to do too many runs of more than 90 Minutes.
  19. Can you explain, I use Heartmonitor with Strava and do not want to buy a new watch now. Just want to get the training I did onto Discovery. Not to worry . Used google
  20. Hi, Must say getting to gold not an issue, I achieved 90 000 after about a month as well. However I have been thinking about it. Not sure anymore what the benefits are when you are on Gold or Platinum anymore, You get the 25% benefit at Woolies etc whther you are there or not. But do not train to get point from discovery in any case.
  21. Had the same issue and contacted ASG. There is actually a separate site where you can actually use the voucher. Priceses were also a bit cheaper than the ASG site.
  22. Had the same issue last week and again this week. Last week I let it go but mailed them this morning regarding the issues.
