she was apologetic. an accident is an event that could have been prevented. so the thing is that we need to have eyes everywhere and drivers need to accomodate bikes on the road. I heard a cyclist was hit near blue route mall yesterday morning? any news?

Maybe the PPA means that a rider with a "beta" seeding is one that is faster than a rider with a "worsa" seeding.

Not sure if this is correct procedure - but - when I tried, as politely and diplomatically as possible to suggest that maybe a driver could just take a quick look before opening a car door the response was "thats easy to say in in retrospect pal" ...

I was the attending medic at this call. The cyclist was travelling direction cape town. A driver of a BMW opened the driver side door. The cyclist collided with this door and sustained an injury to his left elbow and left shoulder. The front wheel was buckled. The driver apologised and all details of both parties were captured by the on scene SAP. I am reporting it in this way so as not to attempt to lay blame with either party - but we as riders must be the motorists eyes, and drivers could really just take a second to check that all is clear before opening a door. Ride safe ya all.

if you wanna spread heavy rumours first back them up with facts - like a statement to the cops, or an actual charge, or an actual conviction. Crimen injuria (probably not spelled correctly) is a counter charge that can be levied against the rumour mongerer. still - um shimi waam (sic)

hi ya all end of the month I am buying a new roadbike framset.. choice of GT team (with integrated seatmast) or KHS flight 900. More or less same price, althought he GT requires a new front deralliur. The KHS brand is new to me - but the frame is full carbon, light and stiff. Anybody have any feed back on these frames?

now this is the real deal! For example, how many snipers do you see hiding in the bushes on golf courses waiting to take out players? Or a wild animal let loose to take random bites of stadium sportspeople? If you solo freeclimb and fall, well, thats life. But to be killed just because you dare to take a bicylce out on the road?

heard a rumour that number plates will have to be bolted on. good for no number plate theft. not good for those mo-fo's who ride over cyclists and then flee the scene. (ok so only if we get lucky and the dumb ass leaves the plate behind)
