  1. don't ever say "hold your line." Just don't.
  2. befok ne?
  3. hi ya Naas V Have Pm you. Hope we can set up a delivery pickup thing. Sure we can figure something out.
  4. Hi ya all? I have like three years worth of back issues of PROCYCLING magazine that I would very much like to give away to anybody just starting out or any youngster hungry for bit of cycling related info they can get their hands on. Sorry western cape only. They can be collected town side if interested.
  5. if a flock of seagulls flys past overhead and the lead seagull swoops down to snatch a chip from out of your palony gatsbie clutching hand only to be beaten to it by a wingsucking competitor will the lead seagull be pissed off? Or will he fly faster next time?
  6. man after two bad crashes in the four weeks leading up to the Argus (ten stitches in elbow after the first, and a road rash the size of a small side plate after the second) I had no great expectations except to get to the finish line in one piece and with a decent time... 3.27 from B is what it was. Must get back into VA for next year.
  7. @ capeof storms... did you know that 99% of cyclists are loosers? Yes thats right. 99% percent of us will not be the first to cross the finish line on any given sunday. That does not stop us. That does not bother us. We will keep training. We will keep trying. And we will not moan about crowd support while doing the biggest timed cycling event in the world. We will not moan about medals for finishing #24890 on the day.
  8. after argus comes work so please don't set anything alight tonight - I am returning to cape town fire station to work out the remainder of my shift. 12 hours 9pm to 9am. If the mountain goes up tonight I am screwed.
  9. agree. gonna be a mellow morning by cape town wind stds.
  10. wtaching paris-nice on dstv SS6. these guys would'nt let a little wind stop them.
  11. there are no usual signs of a pumping morning south easter. more like signs of a coolish and calmish morning.
  12. For what its woth - the only time I feel worse than when I am doing something difficult is later in the day when I realise I was lazy and did not do something difficult. And therefore lost out on experiances and people meeting that will now never happen. Do it!!!!
  13. This is the most fun on a bun since sin became taxible. I looooove the fact that so many people ride and race bikes, and that so many not so fit people, through all the exposure that LA and the argus creates, might also decide to tune in, clip in, and drop someone.
  14. beer meketh the woman - look better
  15. let me bring it back to northeastwest south by saying any awareness that increases awareness is, like, good.
  16. big ears can be a help at the Argus
  17. hey nice one wunduhboy! like the understated but fast and edgy racing look. and what a pleasure it must be rolling out on a machine assembled by your own hands - from the first nut to the last bolt. well done!
  18. why is a local pro not considered as good as an international pro? Does that mean a big fish in a small pond will be a small fish in the international pond?
  19. I must give a big shout out to the dude at the Oakley stand @ the Argus expo- took a pair of Radars in that had a broken lens.. he took less than five min to inspect, remove and replace with a brand new lens; all with a smile and no questions. Well done Oakley and thanks Oakley dude!
  20. mentioned it on super cycling. also mentioned to wear the black arm bands. Anyone who conciously agrees with the idea of hurting another human being has many steps left on the spiritual evolutionary process. Anyone who rides a bike yet still desires to to ride a car over somebody else on a bike has many steps left to grow and discover campassion and patience. Anyone who publicaly declares an intent to cause Grivious bodily harm - albeit to teach another a lesson - should be noted and recorded. Send Mampara good thoughts. Help Mampara to not want to hurt people. Encourage Mampara to not let anger dictate action.
  21. not taking three days to get your bike back is a good start. then free coffee. and free stickers. anything free is good.
  22. If the wind is like last year I will start in my bunch. Then stop and drink beer along the way. And socialise. And enjoy the closed roads. And the other riders and thier stories. And I will aim to finish in the last zz open whatever in the last possible cut off time.
  23. @hairy you also beat me to it... will be wrapping a few loops loosly around my right arm. I am in.
  24. two years better that a fine and a warning. five years better still. ten better still. best of all would be if these freaking drivers drove slower, safer, nicer. glad it made front page news though (cape times) perhaps the message sinks in
  25. more chance of a bite from a taxi snake than a nature snake
