  1. This is good news! People who believe they can take, take, take may now have to give something back; their freedom. Thieves suc!
  2. @ Sammajoor ... Looks like you drank something goooooood!!
  3. I agree 100%. In that when the Cape Town Moya @ Spier first opened and few knew about it, it rocked! One year later I asked the waiter if I should pay extra for the sand in my salad. My sarcasm was lost on him. (He was white so don't even try go there ok?) There's a place in Gugs. Go there.
  4. Have you tried the "Sell a Kidney" hotline? 0800webuyyourbeans112233. T's & C's apply.
  5. I want a pair of Briko Stingers. Old school is always cool.
  6. @ crack - um, if they are dead, in a horrible car accident, why would they need help?
  7. I was 85kg before I got back into riding. Dropped down to 68kg with 8.2% body fat. Got sick too often so now steady at 72kg with 11% body fat. All thanks to the simple act of riding a bike! Its like a gift of health evertime you clip in
  8. Taxi's just drive k*k and that's the damm truth. And they don't give a ..... either. You know how ya wanna mow the next one down? SO maybe the next person the irate driver finds is a cyclist and they take their anger out there.
  9. @Mampara.. Nice one Bru
  10. I use interval time to rehydrate with cold beer and good wine on the wonderful wine farms in and around the Constantia area. Its during these quiet, meditative periods that I most appreciate the unique lifestyle that cycling offers. After a suitable interval time has passed, and I have manages to stumble and become entwined with a grapevine, I call out urgently to any Vintner who passes by "Put me back on my bike!", to which they might reply "Oi!What the f*&k are you doing to my prize vines!?" followed by a series of loud smacks. Ahh yes. The quiet interlude of interval time.
  11. Hey Uncle I can tune you lotsa names of hot as chilli riders up there in Kwa-ZULU-natal man! Rajesh an all his crew have been long time burning trails up there in the Shellcross Hills man. Actually burning! And they have no problem bringing the briyani to your after ride paaty an all.
  12. Moderate to light exercise, in sunlight, can increase "feel good" chemical reactions in the body. This makes the person feel more positive. And heal quicker. But it can also slow the healing process. SOmetimes yo just gotta step back to go forward.
  13. What makes the needs of a human behind the wheel of a car more important than the needs of a human on a bicycle? If I have to pull someone from a burning building should I first ask how important they are. Or think they are? And the idea of posting sh&t about cyclists on a cycling site???!!! Really??!!
  14. After many years of random drug abuse including antibiotics and alcohol, misc. recreational drugs like pure pharmacological grade MDMA, Columbian marching powder, shrooms and others, I have little to no sensation in various parts of my body. Luckily I can still pedal. Not always in a straight line. But I can pedal.
  15. If you got an IPOD load an ten min increasing tempo music, an hour of pumping house/trance music, and another ten min of decreasing tempo music. Gives you ten min warm up, hour of interval type training, ten min cool down. Mix the intervals up according to the track you listening to. Make sure your water bottle is on the bike, you have a fan on high (you will sweat. Lots.) and only start the music as you start to pedal. Dont stop till the music stops. It can become a bit like tripping out on pain and music and the feeling that there is just not enough oxygen, anywhere in the world, to keep spinning that freaking trainer as the intervals start taking an effect.
  16. Mr Cbrunsdon. Sir! Respect! (But sheet man thats gotta hurt like a sumbitch!
  17. I ride when I am sick if I feel ok but not if not so ok. But thats training rides and then at a very easy pace, and mostly on the flat. It more just to getin my daily fix. But racing is a whole other story.
  18. Tour de Wors 2morow..
  19. Heal well Captain
  20. big group rides will for sure be more at home on the road, unless they get strung out in a long single file. I remember someone posting something about VeloAtlantico going one way and, (I think City Cycles?) guys going the other way, and all the comments that might get flung between them. I did feel very safe on the road; a big change from that normal skrik reflex everytime a car/truck gets too close. The lanes allow a smooth transition through what can be a pretty heavy section of road traffic. As for the motorists complaining about a back log of traffic - ag shame..
  21. hi all. I am sure this is not new, in fact I know its been on before. But... I rode the bike lanes in Milnerton today for the first time. Very nice. But this is on a Monday morning. They must be pretty crazy on a weekend. What thread did this topic appear on?
  22. I never got to meet dirt*girl
  23. This is the reality of action to achieve an end goal; it makes sense to some, while to others it is very threatening.
  24. cyclelab is super expensive. and very yuppy. and more interested in your money than in your bike.
  25. A strike is like a hot iron; in that it should flatten all that comes before it. A force or service tasked with the protection of the civilian should at all times uphold, with honor, that task. Apartheid forced discipline. And hatred. Democracy allows freedom. And ineptitude. I still choose freedom. Especially the freedom to ride a bike. Anyway the fire dept will never go on strike. Because we still believe in upholding that with which we have been tasked. Cape Town Fire & Rescue is always on duty: 24/7/365.
