  1. I also heard that the Giro is off. Shame. I hope you wrong Austin regarding the Worlds View Challenge.
  2. I dont think Nolan is going anywhere, he has a signature track frame for 2009 from Neotel.
  3. March would be great but I dont think too many people will travel to Oudtshoorn.
  4. Did this race go over a big climb or is it a hilly course ? 85km is very short or is this the norm in Cape Town ?
  5. He stays in Nelspruit. Good quality rider both on road and dirt.

  13. I ride with about 20 guys, but only two of them are on The Hub. So the hub is not the be all and end all of cycling in South Africa.

  15. Can we have a super series for him Jock and all the other "ex pro's" and then one for the rest of us mere mortals Wait.............Mel and Nic are also coming very soon.
  16. He has...........it does not even have bar tape..... On a lighter note, that Scott of his is beautiful, just needs bar tape and a good owner.
  17. Sean, he was dropped. Andrew attacked and he could not respond. You guys better becareful what you say about this fine gentleman. He pulled up next us in the parking lot after prizegiving at the Dome and wanted to know, what i said about him 2 YEARS AGO on the Hub. My answer to was, tell me what i said, which is reply was, "next time i see you, i am gonna run you over with my Ferrari" So when i reminded of i said on the Hub, which was "who is OB" He drove off swearing and almost running over Elsa Karstens, two TCS members and Mallo.
  18. Oros or Koolaid
  19. Yeah, what's up with the picknick basket ? Why do you guys buy the lightest goodies then add 4-5kg's on your back ?
  20. Okay, so what should a mountain biker look like ? What is acceptable in mtb land ?
  21. Did the weather warrant the guy wearing booties, if so, I dont see a problem with wearing anything that is going to make my ride a bit more comfortable. Would you rather let the poor guy freeze his toes off ?
  22. hellooooo , wakey, wakey, csa are not sending anyone to worlds, they've just selected riders who are allowed to wear SA colours if they choose to go and ride. and i think they give you the kit and R1 500 towards costs the rest comes out of your or your sponsors pocket. I think many are missing a valid point here...anyone can enter the Masters World Championships and wear whatever kit they like and form whatever teams they want. While it's nice to see some funding toward the regulars who do attend (and they'd be going regardless of funding from CSA) but it would have been better spent on preparing the juniors for the Worlds. I dont it about the money. It's been selected for your Country. I spoke to Michael Addy yesterday and he said he got R25 000.00 from CyclingSA. He did both track and road at Vet Worlds.
  23. Now you guys and girls can all see why SA cycling is so weak. We have a selector that no one knows...................and he must also be blind and deaf, because we have never seen nor spoken to him. CyclingSA, please look at yourselves, you are taking our licence fees every year and F@*KING up. It's common sense to look at all riders and speak to their managers and race officials to find out more about what happens week in and week out during races. If i was in their shoes, I would ask people like Carel (TCS), Doug (MTN CLUB 100), Du Sart (Mr Price), Petro (Cycle Lab) and who ever else manages these Vet's Team, who are the strong riders, who makes the racing, which team's control the racing. Because a rider is not in a break, that does not make him useless. His job on the day is to control the bunch so the break is not caught. Each rider in a team has a job. Rider like Christie, Spinnerkop, the Labuscagne brothers and many more, all need to considered, for their contribution to the outcome of a race. Cycling is a team sport. You should send complete teams to contest the World's. Like a TCS Team, reason.........their will all work for Jaco. I can't see why Chris, Jock or Jaco will work for each other. Do the selectors know that Garrett and Werner Moolman have been planning this trip for the past 7 months. NO. I am not their manager, but i know this sort of info, why because we talk. So sorry mr selector, you not doing your job. Like 101% said, Dave did the Worlds last year and did very well. He now know's what it takes to do well at this event. I bet the selector does not know this. With regards to Werner, he rode the Giro this year in preparations for the Worlds. His TT riding stands him head and shoulders above most, because the riding at the Worlds is fast and on narrow roads, where your abillity to hold on to the wheel is like life or death. I won't even bother about commenting on why more Absolute Systems Bulk Pack Meat riders are not selected. On the riders selected, good luck.
