  1. Many people enjoy the expo vibe. I think we need the expo to continue because it stimulates the cycling industry. My experience with riding in the bunch on Sunday is that I don't follow any rider who has less than 5 previous cycle tours under their belt. Very grateful that the cycle tour has each rider's number of tours printed on the number. The A Bunch moves quickly at times, and you need to trust the wheel you are on. A club member of mine did the event in 2024 on a normal road bike. This guy is around 125kg's. His time was close to 5 hours. In 2025 he got himself an ebike with a huge extra battery of 750wh. His time on this weapon of an ebike was around 2;40. Yes, he got DQ'ed but he still goes around telling people his time. Long live the cycle tour.
  2. The & Group was chaotic as usual. The start group was way too large. I don’t understand the idea of mixing 30-39 and 50+ top seeded riders. Way too many close calls, I decided to rather sit at the back and chill. Sat too far back on Chappies and got unfortunately tailed off Ended with 3:03 Had some time to take a few pictures when the speed was relaxed on the Blue Route and coming into CT.
  3. What’s the latest weather forecast for Sunday’s race
  4. To be honest, I looked out for a Pure Savage wheel most of the day. I sat behind probably about 4 of your guys on the section along Kalk Bay / Simon’s Town. You learn to follow educated wheels in a fast bunch. Thanks Pure Savage guys
  5. Great day for cycling. Beautiful Cape Town. Clean roads and no potholes. Started in & Group. The guys were well behaved. No silly switching lines. Managed to finish with a 2h57mins IMG_6471.MOV
  6. I ordered and paid for few items from Nsquared in the past. A few items didn't arrive in the order. I gave up trying to get the balance of my order from them.
  7. It’s entertaining to see an item been sold a number of times on the Hub. Each seller rehashes the previous sellers information. New pictures at a different location but the price now jumps up from R13k to R21 all in a matter of one and a half weeks. It’s even more entertaining when it’s custom bike that you built from scratch.
  8. I’ve just completed my bike. Today was its second outing. The frame is a Cannondale Flash carbon medium. The bike weight with pedals tipped the scale at 8,5kg’s. See below for parts list Frame: Cannondale Flash Fork: Chinese carbon (will change in the near future) Shifters: Sensah 1 x 12 Rear derailleur: Sensah 12 speed Cranks: Race Face Chainring: Easton 40T BB: Token press fit with adapters for the 24mm Race Face spindle Cassette: e*thirteen 9-46 Brakes: TRP cable pull Rims: STANS Crest MK3 Hubs: Tune Kong Tyres: Maxxis Rambler 45mm Bars: Fizik Cyrano Stem: Token Saddle: Fizik Summary The bike is finally comfortable. No back pain. The two main items which I had to change after it’s maiden ride was the saddle and tyre pressure’s. I changed the saddle from a Farr saddle to a Fizik. I felt discomfort and a saddle sore after the first ride. Zero discomfort after a 3 hour ride, after the saddle swop. The gearing is perfect. Goes like a road bike on the flats thanks to the e*thirteen cassette (9-46) and I feel I have enough gears to climb as well. I’m not a fan of the forks. The legs stand way too high. The frame allows me to carry two 750mm bottles and in Lyne bottle cages. The Sensah shifting takes a little getting use too. My road bike has Shimano gearing. Otherwise it’s good to go. Hopefully I can ride the bike this coming weekend at the Underberg Gran Fondo.
  9. The event organizer should allocate the Adventure Event to e-bike riders. No e-bikes should be allowed in the Race Event.
  10. I support whoever feels that they no longer have the ability to pedal a conventional bicycle and purchase a e-bike. Good on you. You still trying to get out and ride. What I have an issue with is guys deliberately taking along an extra battery, so they can ride on max boost during an event. There were guys who swopped out batteries at a water point. The batteries were transported to the water table. I no problem with carrying your extra battery on your bike, but don't come with this nonsense of racing your e-bike on max output, only to swop out a battery. Many e-bike riders manage to complete each day of Sani2C on one battery charge. I respect these guys. The others can go ...................
  11. Just checking which Hubber's are in this group. I also don't understand their logic with regards to the combination of the age group splits.
  12. Anyone starting in the & Group 6:25
  13. The Berg100 in the wet is a nightmare. I've entered three and only started one. The other two were wet and I didn't bother riding. My mates came down from Pretoria and they did the route on their gravel bikes. It was dry and they smoked the guys who opted for riding mountain bikes. We rode from Notties to the top of Sani Pass. The Berg100 route is all wide open district roads. The climbs are long but not steep.

Reading their registration terms and conditions, what about the many riders who can’t make it personally to collect their race numbers. see below Important information before you enter:Strict Covid protocols will be implemented in the presentation of the event. For this reason, we are encouraging entrants to be Covid vaccine compliant in line with regulations now under consideration.Fully vaccinated riders can collect their race packs at any of the three registration venues. CycleLab Lynwood on Thursday, 17th February CycleLab Fourways on Friday, 18th February; and CycleLab Boksburg on Saturday, 19th Covid screening will be in place and riders will need to present their vaccine certificate (not SMS) and ID. Non-vaccinated & partially vaccinated riders can only register at CycleLab Boksburg on Saturday, 19th February – the day before the event. They will have to present an official negative PCR test which is not older than 48 hours. Alternatively, they may do an on-site Rapid Antigen Test at the Saturday registration venue at their own cost.
  15. Not sure about these bikes. Good looking frame as per a few of the comments but heavy parts kits to lower the overall price. The launch item will differ from the leaked design pictures which has mismatched Shimano / SRAM parts. I hope they will much lighter than previous models
  16. December will be change for many people. The dynamics of the event will change completely. Make sure you are prepared. I see mother nature playing a role here as well, The heat in the valley is going to be real challenge. Another issue will be snakes. Next challenge will be the mist as the day two. The region of Highflats and Jolivet can get closed in with mist from as early as 3pm. So at the start of day two it will be extremely hot and then the afternoon wet and uncomfortable.
  17. Hahaha they all yours. My team is locked and loaded.
  18. Has Di Data selected their team as yet ?
  19. Great if you stay outside of Gauteng. Two proper classics on one weekend. Good for guys racing Tour of Good Hope and the Epic.
  20. See you guys at the Trail. Going to ride and enjoy my bike.
  21. Compressport. Try their new long cycling socks, very nice.
  22. Good luck everyone. Enjoy riding your bicycle, many people have no idea the emotion that we experience when completing a race. Never mind the goodie bag.
  23. My 2 cents on this matter I have been part of teams, where Cherise has been a rider. She is a professional. First person in the team car vehicle to leave for races. Always does her best no matter what the climate or her health. She is a team player. Other riders look up to her. I think this selection was done a few months ago. The plan to get all SA best riders into one team had it negative influence on our domestic racing. I can tell you, Cherise was forced to ride for her current team. She had no choice. "If you want to go to Olympics, you must ride for that team". This is why she has a issue with been left out. She had to appologies to her sponsors, because she had to cut ties with them because she was forced to ride for a certain team. We will lose 2 ladies teams come end of 2012 - 2013. The sponsors have not got their Return on Investment. If Cyclingsa wanted a worker for the team, they should have selected An-Li. The best pound for pound rider in SA at the moment. Hard worker with a great attitude. An-Li would have complemented both Ashley and Cherise at the games. The course is pan flat. It will end in a bunch sprint. Both An-Li and Cherise would be the best lead out for Ashley. An-Li and Cherise can both sprint. There is more to this, than what Cyclingsa are telling us. Too many people in the back ground pulling strings.
  24. The guys older than 30 normally race cruisers. This is me on my Redline Cruiser.
