why not put up a support race with some/all the entry money towards prize money...?? Certain way to get spectators/interest... just an idea

Seriously?!?! This topic had been flogged to death. They will likely never get rolling road closures so guess what, elites like everyone else will have to abide. SV's have also been DQ'd in the past. "If" a truck/car took out half the bunch I'm sure the fact the other half would have survived to make the transgression worth it right!!! When a few riders violate and its safe to do then the comms will warn possibly. But if its a large portion of the bunch then in the interest of safety they should continue to disqualify the bunch in violation.

These are 2 of the most overlooked riders in SA and really nice guys. Fully worthy of going to WC and Commonwealth Games. Their dedication and work ethic while holding down a fullttime job us unbelievable. Come on peeps they really need your help!!!

I asked PPA and Cycling SA on twitter and the only response I got back from PPA was that they have been excluded from Cycling SA's constitution and therefore don't require sanctioning from Cycling SA for any of their events. They also welcome "any" cyclists at their funrides..... However; what they fail to say is exactly as stringbean said. Any licensed rider who rides an unsanctioned race can be fined/banned/excluded from Cycling SA so bye bye Regional/National road/MTB series/championships and while the racing community is but a very small % of the cycling masses it is the pinnacle of the sport and the only way to the Olympics and anything else inbetween Argus excluded naturally.

Couple of points; to reiterate any fully licensed CSA riders will not be able to ride any PPA race if it's unsanctioned so lets hope they sort their $%^# out pronto. Also <rant> PPA are supposed to be promoting WP cycling BUT by not organising a single road race after Argus it seems they are doing nothing but lining their own pockets. Also how many races are organised 100% by PPA? 1 Tonner? Argus? what else? 3 races per year is disgusting for an organisation of their size/calibre/history. <rant/> CCC have done a sterling job along with the Polkadraai series over this winter, why aren't CSA and PPA for that matter leverageing the skills and organisation to improve cycling as a whole in WP?

72km --> 1754m according to my Garmin. Couple of tweaks to the route along the way meant it was 7km shorter than last year and almost 300m less climbing (depending on how accurate my Garmin recorded)....

Has the route changed? will the 75km use this single-track?

So they installing some new fences on the lower bits of Magik trails effectively cutting off the whole lower section of the single track. Anyone care to enlighten me as to what's going on before I have to swim across the dam to get to the other side to exit the trails pretty soon???
