  1. How many meals a day do you have and what time of the day do you have them? (Average of the past 3 months plus)
  2. Just to celebrate of all your hard efforts guys and girls, I'll drag myself off for a surf! (Been struggling with a little sore throat effort and still believe in the power of a salt water cleanse so surfing instead of running till it's done)

  6. When I grow up I want to have a tempo pace like you guys do.........! 4:00 - 4:30 is not sustainable for me yet. That's top of zone 4, knocking on zone 5, for me!
  7. #whatwouldevando? #hegotmarried! #whereisGen?
  8. 150 days to CT Marathon. Figure I will spend the next 60 focused on short distance speedwork and then the following 90 getting the right distance training in for the full event. What say you ultra\regular marathon campaigners?
  9. Must be those extra 18cms you take with each stride! Those long legs must be the cause... Those 18cms add up quickly when you combine the reps together!
  10. My numbers from OMTOM half: I'm 1.75m Avg pace: 5:22/km = 11,2 km/h speed Max speed: 14,3 km/h Avg heart rate: 156bpm Avg: 173spm Max: 215spm Stride length: 1.08m Avg vertical ratio: 7.2% Avg vertical oscillation: 7.8cm Balance: 50.6%L/49.4%R Ground contact time: 276ms P.S. Just entered Cape Town Marathon in the hope of taming the effort that nearly killed running for me last year!
  11. Why do Dirk's shoes make the road seem so small though....? (Any idea what size those skis are?)
  12. Well done all you Ultra Marathoners! Some lekka tales here! You are all champs for finishing! Hopefully the last push towards Comrades for those crazy enough to do it, is plain sailing!
  13. Lekka Andrew! Nice to meet you too mate! Good luck all!
  14. Stretch, in case you haven't seen this yet, quite a bunch of useful info on this link! http://dogreatthings.co.za/running/training/race-pace-calcuatory/
  15. This seems like the best value option! It's also only 49grams!
  16. Coming through Thursday late morning, just before lunch time. I'll check on Strava and see if you've posted some pics so I can recognise a fellow younger guy going grey....
  17. Post a pic of the stand so we know where to find you! (How many randelas do we need to bring along to get a training top?)

  19. Main Road Newlands (More info here: http://www.twooceansmarathon.org.za/information/route-56km)
  20. The only option for getting to Hout Bay will be via the Atlantic side past Llandudno down Suikerbossie on Victoria Road. If they want to hang in Hout Bay to watch you guys there, it would probably make the most sense for them to try and get near to the beach at the foot of Chapman's Peak. They would drive on Victoria road through Hout Bay turning left at the circle into Princess Street and then right into Mainstream Village entrance on mainstream avenue. (They would have to take this entrance as main road ahead will be closed to traffic.) Mainstream will wind its way round the mall and the next road to the right is sentinel. There are a few options here. Maybe a map will be better... There are plenty of options but this will be the best selection for being in Hout Bay. The closer they can get to the Vida or Dunes restaurant area to park, the closer they are to the beach for the kids to play on will they wait for you to come by.
  21. How are we all doing in taper week to OMTOM? I'm going to try to get more sleep this week! Yawning like a pro in the office today!
  22. Gonna be a tough road trip for the STORMERS from here. Lions home next week, then Crusaders, Hurricanes and Highlanders all away next!
  23. What a game! Newlands was heaving! STORMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Ja, these club shorts are seriously pseudo hot pants! Used mine once and even though they're so short, had them climb all up in the sweet spot! I've had to go hunting for some substitute shorts that are the same club colour and slightly closer to boardie length, I'll be more comfy in. Found a decent pair of nike football shorts that work. Did a test run in them last week and they're good to go! (Wonder how Patch would handle this issue given his sock length fetish...)
