  1. I use WAZE. It's so useful to have realtime traffic alerts as to what is happening. I drive with it on permanently now and have all my regular spots saved as favourites. Been especially helpful for the any of the typical road events you would like to know about enroute! Glad to hear google have released their own version.
  2. Not yet. I don't fancy going straight to a doc. I usually like to wait and see and fiddle with some things on my side first. Adjust diet a little, get more sleep, etc. See what the impact of these are first after at least a few weeks. I don't enjoy the mental fogginess I feel from popping pills, so I use that as a last resort. I've added about an extra 40 mins of sleep and this has meant I'm feeling a little more refreshed in the mornings, but halfway through the odd morning training efforts and I'm back to feeling depleted. Trying to ride this one out, but I can see the goals I have for OMTOM receding as the focus becomes on getting over this!
  3. Hacc, you are not alone at the moment! I've run 4 times in 2017! Picked up a virus somewhere and if the amount of time on the porcelain scooter could've been training time I would be super excited. Keep taking time off to recover, thinking I have and when I then try to run\train, it's really sore and doesn't ease up and the whole bad stomach thing starts up again! Even had to cut a few surf sessions short as the stomach cramps were so bad that laying on the board was too uncomfortable and I was so flat from all the nutrient loss, that I was quite useless in the water! It's been just long enough to start to affect my mental state now! Super frustrated!
  4. The kiwi contingent keeps growing eh! Waiting to see pics of the first hub ride that somehow meanders down past Raglan....
  5. I was the same when I was a sleep paddawan myself! heading towards Jedi status now and I've almost mastered the art of a day time sleep and still falling into bed pre 10pm! It's so decadent!
  6. Good theme running through the suggestions so far! I'd like to add one other thing to consider! Schedule some power naps for this weekend! If you get a gap to do a quick 40min plus snooze somewhere in the day, take it! Most useful if you do it when you get back from your run after you've cleaned yourself up!
  7. Read through the post twice again and my impression is that it would seem like you have not fully recovered from whatever December threw at you! You're probably going to be forced to pick between trying to continue training through this and it taking far longer to get fully over it, or ease back a bit, readjust some training and race expectations and get over this properly!
  8. How much sleep are you getting Andrew? Is it quality sleep through the night or disrupted? (Lets build out a bigger picture)
  9. So your dome is a solar panel! Schweeet! Cap it up or get some island tribe sunscreen for the dome and test a run with 'a peak' to check the difference!
  10. "A peak" - No, not what a Russian wife calls her husband when she has to clean the bathroom after him.... Actually it's a visor of sorts that has the front part of a cap that then connects to a headband or elastic of sorts to go around the head and keep the visor in place. Makes for comfortable running as there is nothing on top of your head preventing your head from letting off steam easily, so it feels less hot on the head itself! Most races give away freebie peaks in the race pack with some or other sponsorship logo on it! I run with a visor and sunnies. If the sunnies are fogging up, they're too close to my eyes and I'll move them further down the nose! Problem sorted.
  11. Candz to the rescue! I'll pick a fight with anyone who revs you! (Just like old edirt days! ) Also no further Comrades aspirations for me since running a marathon and feeling how my knees 'enjoyed' that experience!
  12. Nope no other ladies running and on the list! Looks like you have all us boys to yourself! (I haven't run in almost 2 weeks now, so my name wont come up on a fesh list yet....)
  13. How? If you're gonna run you need shoes which you will pay for. Now you get the chance to run back the savings of that cost over 12 months.
  14. NSBB - Have you updated your Discovery iOS app to the latest version? I would make sure I've done that and checked again before contacting Disco.
  15. Not quite cycling, but it is a video that makes me want to ride..... my surfboard! (and the quality of the camera work is beyond spectacular!) https://vimeo.com/108799588
  16. A bit of holiday fun! Table Mountain in the distance!
  17. #picsoritdidnothappen
  18. Welcome Willhelm! LBS = Local Bike Shop Not sure if there is one in Citrusdal, but I would start with asking some locals there for a bike shop name and address or perhaps a hardware store that sells bike parts, if no LBS exists.... Good luck!
  19. Benky is a bit of endurance animal and well known for it in the KZN circles. He has done a couple of solo unsupported everesting efforts. He eats cement for breakfast and lives rule 5!
  20. Yoh! This will ruin a chaps December plans and budget! Does this unit include the HR on the wrist option?
  21. Sunrise over False Bay
  22. I'm holding out for the Fenix 3. Think I'll give myself a reward in the New Year!
  23. Wow! LOADS of detail in there JXV! What macro lens and body did you shoot that on?
  24. Went to the Wavescape film festival on the beach on Saturday evening. Got this pic whilst having drinks at sunset...
