Yes if you are brave enough to demonstrate before a race, why not be brave and share the "facts"

No I am not agreeing with everything going on in this country. Do you really think what Jakaranda klub did is going to make a difference? (I don't) Do you think ASG gives a rat's arse about the little demonstration (I don't). I was part of that klub when they were still known as Telkom klub and when Telkom stopped there sponsorship for reasons which I cannot discuss here, I told certain members of the then management team not to give the race organization to ASG. They could organize the race themselves, but they were to lazy. Now they sit with the dilemma of just getting a fee for the race (which they obviously are not satisfied with). Their respons is to have a demonstration before the start of the race, about their dissatisfaction towards the organizer and the race fee and then they still get on their bikes and ride the race? A bit of an oxymoron if you ask me.

Couldn't help to laugh at those protestors, protesting about the race and the cost and after their protest got on their bikes and rode the race

There is no hills

I was in the TM group and we had to dodge cars at Pecanwood at 60km/h. The lead vehicle overtook the cars on the righthand side with oncoming traffic. The Tandemswent left right and center between the cars - not a nice feeling, how we got through there incident free still puzzles me. The speedhumps at Skeerpoort was also a new experience. The finish was very dissappointing, having to turn left into a very narrow road with single bikes all over and trying to sprint for the finish was nerve wrecking to say the least. Didn't see too much of the bike marshalls. The venue was great because there was plenty of beers in a huge barn with lots of space to sit

Got this mail from ASG New venue and distances for Bestmed Jacaranda Satellite Classic The venue for the 2013 Bestmed Jacaranda Satellite Classic, which takes place on 19 October, moves from Necsa to Saloon Route 66, which will result in the event becoming immensely more user friendly and easier to manage logistically. As a result the distances for the event also change. The 94km ride will now come down to 80km BUT STILL REMAINS A SEEDING EVENT for the 2014 Cape Argus Pick ‘n Pay Cycle Tour. The 114km ride now comes down to 106km – also a seeding event for the 2014 Cycle Tour. Entries for the event close on Tuesday (8 October 2013).

Well even if they charge you, you still pay less for the 105 than you would pay for entering the Sondela Super classic 105 hosted by ASG which runs with Racetec. Only difference is, Champion chip shows you what you are being charged for and Racetec doesn't

@ Riaan Coetzee, smile and wafe boet, life is really not that serious. You clearly have issues with Campion chip and Jacaranda - deal with it and leave the rest of us to decide on our own whether we want to do this race. The route is as safe as any other route in Gauteng on a Sunday. I have used it for the past 2 Sundays to get familiar with the route and it was fairly quiet.
