  1. 7 Days Not much training done in the last month, hope the muscle memory of Panorame kicks in
  2. All ASG race are too expensive. Problem is, other race organizers see that people are willing to pay those prices and they then also charge high prices, like the Bela Bela classic, last year it was around R200, now it is R250. Yes I do complain and yes I choose not to ride those races, they probably won't miss me, but I won't miss them either
  3. Little bit too expensive for such a flat small race. Groups stay big, more chances for crashes at the end
  4. Sjoe! It was really 4 hard days. Did less training than last year but luckily managed to do the whole tour in 47 minutes faster than last year. The first day felt harder than the previous year. Day three was the nicest for me. we were 5 tandems working together up Spitskop, one couldn't hold the pace and fell of just before the top. At Heidel eggs on the Brondal road we were stil four tandems in our little group, but one unfortunately fell off the back. we were discussing how great it would be if four tandems came into the finish together. In the end we were three tandems finishing together and we crossed the line together. Only starting to feel my old self today. Will definitely be back next year for nr 4
  5. Nice quiet roads, will definitely be there
  6. It is actually uphill to the turnaround and downhill to the end. The placed only one half of the profile and it is the second half
  7. Changes to stages 1 and 4
  8. Can't wait for the 25th, then we will be on our way to Witrivier
  9. 2 X 2

    MTN Panorama tour

    Entries closing today
  10. This sound like a seriously hard race
  11. Nine speed rear derailer definitely works with 10 speed cassette. I have this set up on the tandem and had it for a couple of years without problems (SLX derailer with 11/34 Casette) However with the Road 10 speed shifters on the tandem you cannot use a 10 speed derailer, it does not work, you must use a 9 speed. Apparently you can even use a 8 speed derailer
  12. Hi Greald I have received my race nr (TA1040), my tandem partner however has received a nr for the 65km
  13. Looks complicated, hope it work out fine
  14. Thank you
  15. Where can we find the results?
  16. Lot's of rain last year, but it was great fun. Will be there again
  17. Only a small percentage of cyclists are Hub memebers. For a real boycott to work everybody here need to give the link to this post to their clubmembers of their respective clubs, so that people can log on and read all the replies and suggestions.
  18. Just looking at the general lay out and the grammer mistakes made by one of the CSA officials, it is no wonder that CSA is in the state that it is. I am seriously considering, not paying for next years CSA affiliation.
  19. Ja, it happens at a lot of races, but as you say, they drop very quickly
  20. Rouxtjie, you can use SRAM chain and cassette as well, wil also work. Personally I don't like using the SRAM componenets as it seem they wear faster than Shimano (sorry all the SRAM fans, it is just my personal experience)
  21. No, you can run a 10 speed cluster, the nine speed Mtb rear deraileur has enough reach for that. if I am not mistaken you can even use a 8 speed rear Mtb deraileur.
  22. Hi Rouxtjie You will have to use a nine speed rear derailer with that ten speed STI's. Tried the same with my tandem and we could not adjust the gearing to go to every gear. Put a nine speet XT derailer on and the problem was solved.
  23. Thanks Dracs
  24. Who will know if there has been a route change from last year? Looked on the website and cannot see anything
