Have been on Continental Gator skins for the past 3 years. I'm thinking of changing to another tire brand as I believe there are cheaper alternatives that are just as good as Gator skins. Your opinion on what alternatives would be appreciated

I don't see a problem with frames from Taiwan. Most frames come from there or thereabout. Saw a program called How stuffs made and they show a factory in one of those countries manufacturing Trek bicycles. Trek is just one of them, others include, Raleigh, Giant, Silverback, Bianchi, etc. The frame popping up here on the hub are just some of those without branding. I guess one pays a lot for the branding stickers

Another thing that you can do to get the same seat heights on both bikes, is to turn the crank arm on the Mtb to the bottom. Measure from the pedal to the top of the seat. take this measurement and apply it to the roadbike in the same manner - put the roadbike's crank at the bottom and set the seat the same height as you measured on the Mtb

Wanted to respoke the tandem wheels with those flat spokes, but at +/- R30.00 per spoke times 42 spokes per wheel, it was just to expensive

I'd say Club rides and social activities, Weekend training camps, Club competitions and races, riding as a team in races (even in unlicensed groups), team races like 24hrs, DC, Panorama, etc, Training advice and programmes.

I don't know if this maybe happens already: I think there should be a CSA rule that says that any sponsor that sponsors a profesional team, be that elite or U/23, should pay a percentage of their yearly sponsor over to a CSA fund to be utilised for sending promising cyclists or SA teams abroad.
