  1. Will this strap fit the Garmin Fenix 6 (not pro version)? Not a Garmin product, but cost less than half of the Garmin product. https://m.takealot.com/silicone-band-for-garmin-fenix-5-forerunner-935-red-22mm/PLID47077073?gclsrc=aw.ds&&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI78zugJmw5gIVkNDeCh1J5wjmEAQYAyABEgIEz_D_BwE
  2. I’m new to Triathlon’s and did my 2nd Triathlon ever this weekend at Buffelspoort (5150) which went ok (did Buffelspoort Xterra 4 years ago). Legs were quite tired at the end though!! I was crazy enough to enter for the Full IM in PE next and would like to get some advice on training programs. I did Epic in 2016 and Comrades this year and usually took a recovery week after 3 weeks of training. Has anyone or planning to use Coach Parry’s Full Ironman Program which you can download for free? It is a 12 week program but I don’t really see recovery weeks? I was thinking of changing the 12 weeks to a 15/16 week program by building in a recovery week in after every 3 weeks of training. Any thoughts or advice. Anyone used this program in the past and how did it go? Thanks in advance.
  3. I'm planning to run my COM qualifier at the end of January and considering Johnsons or Akasia. Who has run both and which if the 2 would be the easier? Thx in advance!
  4. Some advice from the old hands please? Next year will be my 1st Comrades. Listening to some of "Coach Parry's" podcasts, he recommends nothing more than 2 ultra's and 1 marathon or 2 marathon's and 1 ultra from January, given that the last one is 6 weeks before COM and the other spaced 4 weeks apart. Coming from a cycling background and aerobically quite fit (finished Epic in March). I'm new to running and only started running 3 months ago. I'm currently running half marathons easily around 2 hours. Hoping to run bronze. My game plan is as follow and would like know if you guys agree? 1) Johnsons Crane qualifier end January. 2) Om die Dam Ultra mid March 3) Loskop Ultra mid April (Then still doing a rustige Sani2C with my wife 11-13 May) Thanks in advance!

  7. Waited for that one! Shimano's internal chain-never need to clean and only lube once a year. De-railers fitted to have something to attach lose ends of shifter cables.
  8. Will still come and ride at your place. (Was your neighbour on the trail at Sani2c)
  9. Rides from Hazeldean on Saturday mornings is well established and cater for all needs. What about group rides starting at Rafters Pub out on Garsfontein Road for those staying some distance from Hazeldean?? Any takers or suggestions? Rafters offers safe parking and various routes and distances can be done.
  10. Thanks Ryan! Will be running 38T large chainring with the 12/36 cassette. Will medium cage still do or should i go for long cage?
  11. Some info wrt rims weights from a previous post on the hub a while ago: 282g = Enve Carbon Tubular 325g = Dt Swiss XRC 320 Carbon 334g = Rapide SC29 Scandium 340g = Dt Swiss XR 331 350g = Loaded Ultra Xlite Carbon 360g = American Classic Race 375g = Loaded Xlite Carbon 380g = Stans ZTR Crest 380g = American Classic 101 380g = Enve XC Tubeless Carbon 385g = American Classic Tubeless 405g = WTB Frequency Team i19 (19mm) 412g = Loaded Ultra Tubeless 444g = Enve AM Tubeless Carbon 448g = WTB KOM i23 (23mm) 450g = Mavic XM819 460g = Stans ZTR Arch 480g = Loaded AmXC 523g = WTB Frequency Team i23 (23mm) 540g = Spank Oozy Evo 545g = Stans ZTR Flow
  12. I'm in the same position and decided on WTB KOM rims (with hope hubs). Why? Read a number of reviews, weight and advise from 2 reputable wheelbuilders.
  13. Long or medium cage lenght rear derailer on L frame Oneten29?? Running 2x10 and 11/36 casette.
  14. My 40th Bday present from my family - let the build begin!!
  15. Bought a Rock Shox Revelation (29" Tapered) 140 mm travel for a Pyga Oneten29. Pyga suggests a 120-130mm travel fork for this frame so I had the travel changed to 120 mm. Exposed stanchions now measure 115 mm?? Should I be concerned and have it changed back to 140 mm?
  16. Have a pressfit shimano SM-BB71 BB. Did some final inspections to my bike before next week's Sani2c and realised that my BB turns "rough and stiff". After a few turns it however became loose and turned easy, but still a bit "rough". How long before it completely seizes or should i rather play safe and replace before sani2c?
  17. With regards to a fork for the pyga, Wanted to get my pyga a xfusion, but only the bike shed in ct currently service the forks and they aren't allowed to sell service kits/parts due to guarentee obligations. If i was based in ct, it was no issue, but to courier a fork down from gauteng to cape town for each service is probably going to cost more than the service itself. Still have to decide though, otherwise i'll have to go for the rockshox reba 120 mm for which i will have no problem getting service kits.
  18. Where did you buy your fork from and if i may ask, what did you pay for the sweep?
  19. Hi Martin, how do you experience the 120mm travel while pyga recommends a 130-140mm fork travel? Also got myself a used frame and are looking at the rockshox revelation 140mm travel? Your thoughts??
