Id get a set of XT or XTR brakes, but I agree with Mampara, rather save up a lil bit more so you can get a decent fork, then the brakes. Oh,and Tubeless if you havent already converted.

My commute is about 10km's one way, from Mayfair to Rosebank, first time was when I just started riding. Called the wife to pick me up on the way back home, Melville hills are a Killer, now I find it ALOT easier though. Try to to ride at least 2 - 3 times a week. We have showers at work, but i find it easier to just carry a face towel and some Deo, when I get to work, I just wash all the smeely bits and gooi some Mitchum. Might seem a short distance, but damn, its REALLY helped my fitness. Everytime I ride I find it a little easier. What do u guys do when it's raining? I'm scared to ride in the the rain. Joburg driver + Rain + cyclist = Broken cyclist

All your points are correct except for no 3, when i see a women climbing a hill in front of me, I just wanna catch up with her faster. @Covie. I know quite a few raod cyclists in KZN, spend some time with them at the beginning of the year and they took me to Giba Gorge, that place is Awesome. @MattyG. I started cycling to work for a couple weeks now, the black guys that commute to work in the mornings keep me going. The first few times I couldn't keep up with them. Now I start racing with the guys. it's quite funny. As soon as as overtake them, they start pushing to keep up me. Lat week this guy started riding on my arse (not literally) after I overtook him, then coming Chester road, i began getting exhausted trying to keep a good pace with this dude. THen I was like "Just go on without me", and he just FLEW up that hill.

Of course u are Beenie. I think next time I enter a MTB race, im gonna put up one corner Takeaway, where we gonna sell some spicy Samoosa's for after the race. You white people love that stuff. May be some Bunny chows? BTW guys, thanks for all your comments.
