  1. Used them quite a few times, never had a bad experience, prices are great.
  2. Roads eat MTB tryes for breakfast. Any suggestions? I don't have a spare set of wheels and I'm not willing to changes my tyres every Saturday when I go MTBing and back again for the weekly commutes. What's a good set of tyres that's hardy on the roads and provide decent riding off the roads? If there is such a thing...
  3. Sounds lekker, I love honey. Is it easy to eat a sammich while you riding or do you need to stop? I usually just eat Bar One's or an assortment of other energy bars, those are easy to eat while you riding.
  4. I was like I've heard that a lot, gonna try and do that. I heard peanuts help while riding as well? Did that on my commute this morning, but it was already going south, my commute is not that long.
  5. Thanks Guys for all the advice, think I'll start trying to figure out what works best, maybe I'll take some peanut butter n jam sammiches on my next ride and see how that goes.
  6. I'm half of you, I weight about 55kg's. I usually push myself when I ride, trying to take it easier now that I'm riding longer. What I want to achieve is to be able to do the longer 75km to 90km races. That's halal, yes, but no thanks.
  7. Hey Guys, So, I'm getting to the point where I'm beginning to spend a lot more time on the bike than before. Where I used to ride for between 1 and 2,5 hours, I'm now trying to put in more distance and riding for 2,5 hours plus. Thing is, when I get get to 2,5 hours I feel like I could eat a buffalo, and then it feels like my legs are made of jelly and I struggle to peddle. I usually eat a banana before a ride, and take water and Fast Fuel during my ride, I mostly drink the water and end up finishing the ride with 1/2 bottle of Fast Fuel left. Please could you guys advise me on what to eat on longer rides, Jungle Oats Bars? Snackers? Sandwiches? USN bars? Nuts etc. And should I be eating more before I go out on long rides. Also, I'm muslim, so lets keep this alcohol and pork free
  8. Think I'm gonno go for the 68km, need to still get permission from the other half though.
  9. Thats is an awesome goody for a goody bag, anyway I can book a size small, hate it when I get L or XL T-shirts at races and I have to give them away
  10. Remember to uncleat!
  11. Hey Marius, when and where do you commute to and from? I also pass UJ.
  12. I would Love to believe that... anyway, I think that's enough time since this mornings commute, goiing to make me a cup a coffee. Thanks for the motivation Hairy
  13. My third commute this week after not cycling for over a month. Riding from Mayfair to Rosebank, going through Melville, Parktown and Greendside. Some K@k hills on that route, one way is about 9km's. Going to work is bout 30% uphill but going back home is a real killer. But I can feel an improvement everyday. From next week I'm planning to take a detour up the Sentech tower hill on the way home. Regarding the coffee, I read in the October edition of Bicycling that coffee is not good just after a cycle, cant remember why.
