I do tourism in the area and the notice was just sent to my general enquiries box Now the idiots have said they are not having the meeting as it clashes with the last dates for voter registration. Shoddy and suspicious!

Just spoken to the land owner and he is not even aware of this! So it looks like you don't have to give fair warning of a meeting nor let the landowner know either!

I realize there is a lot of wealth and benefits from mining, the problem is there is a lack of accountability form the mining groups when things go wrong. We already have a huge issue with the acid mine water on the West Rand (which has now gone quiet as well). Our water resources are scarce and mining is a huge polluter of the environment as well as a drain on water. So having money from mining doesn't help when we cant drink the water and use it for farming (Magalies is based on tourism and farming).

We will be there on Saturday, I have mailed this to as many people as possible in town and surrounds. Very sneaky to just give short notice like this. One of the previous times another company just stuck a couple of notices up in areas no-one ever goes to! Our big concern is water pollution and the devastation of the natural environment.

Nickel was the big one a while back...and further along the area there was going to exploration for uranium I think!

There have been numerous attempts at mining in the area over the last 4 or 5 years, Several Youtube vids on it as well. Sadly I think if there is mineral wealth then it will be mined (juding by the acceptance of fracking now). Paintball guns, pellet guns and those small gas powered had guns are all too easy to buy these days. Lots of animals also getting killed and maimed because of the moronic laws.

Some bad news for Magalies, I cant believe we get a notice for a meeting 2 days before the event! Surely there should be a minimum notice period for something as important as this?

I insure with Outsurance and they have never asked for the frame numbers! I had to give it to them!

I think lubing the chain the night before is more for the wax based lubes? It has more time to creep into the links and dry?

I have used this grease and found it no better (or worse) than normal GP grease from Midas. I tried it in wheel bearings , now I just use it around the house and still use standard grease for all my bearings (but I service these pretty regularly) etc. Don't be fooled by the word 'Marine' as it still turns into a dirty grey mess when it comes into contact with water.

Only upgrade I have made on my Trance so far was to install a continuous gear cable housing. And bar ends.....!

Have you taken the chain off and given it a good clean?

Hopefully the event organizer wont be spray painting arrows all over the place like what has occurred in Magalies over the last couple of years!

I had a similar problem, there was a very thin metal spacer/washer/shim thing on mine that I did not put back and that gave the cassette some play on the freehub body. It went onto the splines after the cassette and before the lockring.

You can also try Anatomic, although I use mine 3-4 times a week and I see the last set (bought in Aug, were R499) is starting to loose the 'lycra' stuff so its getting a bit sheer in places! The same thing happened with the Cape Storm shorts as well.
