  1. Easiest remedy here then is for those who are anti and not really bothered, stop reading the thread then and move along...no-one has a gun to your head forcing you to log in and read this...right? Those who have changed or feel that they could do something to make a difference somehow should carry on reading the thread... Simple....??!!
  2. Fair enough, nor have I ....
  3. Have you watched that Cowspiracy movie?
  4. I've been vegetarian for 6 or 7 odd years....haven't eaten eggs in years since getting an embryo in my fried egg... and I only eat cheese when I buy a pizza..may e once a month these days...not many alternatives in my small town. Milk I seldom drink other than hot chocolate in winter. I feel pretty good. Give it a go...nothing to lose...
  5. mine have also taken on slight discolouring from the saddle area. Thought that was just my bar luck....
  6. I have these. I must say I personally find the belt not much use...always comes lose and I think the outer material is pretty thin for a MTB short. I had another Indola pair...not sure which type...but the material was a lot tougher . Got 3 or 4 years out of them. Not overly impressed for the R900 odd they cost....
  7. while it's certainly no excuse for poor service you cant really expect a bike shop to drop what they are doing and suddenly service your bike if they are busy. Business is hard to come by but equally you have to look after the business you already have...I work at a small tool and die place and we often have someone dropping by to get a bolt sparked out of something or a bit of turning or milling etc...if we can help we certainly do but if we are busy then you have to wait...
  8. Anything that says Kaufman from your local Co-op......
  9. Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
  10. sure we make them do it...but it's now 2019....prison are to max capacity with the dregs of society ...murderers...serial killers etc...test it on those that are no longer part of society and wi never become part of society again. I could be starving on the streets but there is still no way I could do what these people do and go home with at night and think nothing of it.
  11. You have to ask what sort of people could actually do this and go home at night without remorse? I would love nothing more than seeing these guys on the wrong end of my steel toe capped boots....
  12. Vodacon etc will be buying them To keep up with their losses....bíg circle of battery theft...
  13. this is South Africa....those batteries will just be stolen by our comrades ..
  14. Gotta say I haven't heard that one before for a welcome change!
  15. How was the parking situation last year? Was it a bit of a battle finding place to park etc and then getting down to the start point? I would be coming in from the Krugersdorp direction so off the N14 onto the R511. Not really sure what time to leave from Magalies for this...Im also riding for a charity so I assume I would only be starting from 8am onwards anyway....
  16. I think I read somewhere the Chinese are the worlds biggest consumers of pork? Biggest decimating nation on earth as well in my opinion...
  17. Common sense not visited you in a while I see.....
  18. Agreed, although I don't eat meat, I have no issue if you do BUT it does not give you the right to make an animal suffer....slaughter the livestock here and ship the meat across... If the Muslims don't like it, tough luck mate...go somewhere else.
  19. I usually fry up the sausages first...add some onions, garlic, chili and mushrooms or what you fancy, add a little bit of pkt mushroom soup and a touch of water, cook for a minute or two to thicken and then chuck everything into some tin foil, double wrap the foil and these are good to go on the braai, chuck them on, leave them for 10 minutes and tha'ts that sorted (leaving you with plenty of free time to answer the inevitable 'oh so you are a vegan/vegetarian....how do you get your protein...!). Usually someone will help you scoff these sausages done this way as well....! Or if I don't have time to prep for a braai then I just coat the sausages in some olive oil or whatever oil the braai host has...add some spices and just cook them quickly before they have a chance to get too 'dry' if you know what I mean...
  20. Took the bike up to the cross in Magalies....made it without knackering up my RD like the last time I tried it! Looking forward to the 11-46 cassette though...!
  21. Bye bye winter...see you next year....
  22. Every single person can make a difference in the world...but its entirely up to you if you want to make an effort and try...
  23. If you do your wheel bearings on a Shimano hub and its the loose ball bearings type (i.e ballbearings are not in a cage), hold a magnet nearby the hub as you pull out the axle...also remove the axle at a slight angle so only one lot of bearings can make a break for it....I hold the wheel in a vice (old shorts/cloths etc around the rim). DONT undo the nuts at BOTH ends of the axle or its pain in the ass to get right and balanced again..(newbie move!). A bent ear bud is also great to clean out the bearing race inside the hub if your fat little fingers dont get in there...like mine And keep a packet of the two bearings sizes in your tool box....eventually, oneday, one of the little sods will manage to escape somehow....somewhere... One of my best tools....a little magnet stuck on the end of a telescopic aerial...
