  1. The way I see it, my car is to get me to point A and point B, my bikes are for enjoyment, I will gladly spend more to have fun.
  2. Would like to see that restored to its former glory, looks sweet though
  3. DunLop as a kid we always refer to it as Dun - Loop
  4. I would upgrade the components that would make your current bike better to ride, ie the wheels and suspension, I'm assuming you have a standard factory setup bike, with standard wheels, There is nothing wrong with the 26" wheels setup, just because the marketing strategies of big companies like giant don't include 26ers anymore does not make them right, every bodies needs are different, keep your bike for now, upgrade it and love it, As others have mentioned if you are winning why change the formula,
  5. Im interested in this debate, my reasoning is which would be better, going bigger tyre size on standard 26" wheels ie 26x2.4 (559-61= 682) or bigger rim smaller tyre 27.5"x2.0 (584-50 = 684) Only 25mm in rim difference so surely going bigger rim but smaller tyre is the same as just getting a bigger tyre? And going bigger tyre surely means more comfortable ride?
  6. If Tunariaan you have time to fish, then you have time to build, it takes 30mins or (2hours if you include beer stops)to convert a geared bike to single speed, it's fun it's easy, and anybody can do it,
  7. Finally hot my SS back up and running, be down due to bent fork for almost a year now.
  8. Depends largely on your fork and frame, yes you could get a thru axle hub and convert it to QR, but not the other way around, and a fork that takes a thru axle won't take a QR and vise versa . If you have a QR set up stick with it, unless you plan to upgrade your fork too,
  9. Hi Bman Quick release or QR or 9mm is all the same thing, it's a axle diameter of 9mm with a hole in it for a a quick releasing locking devise, 15mm or maxle is another story, works more like a motorbikes axle, where the axle shaft pushes through the hub and locks into the fork or frame, It also comes in 20mm diameter
  10. No small h. I was not in the bunch,

  20. So although my bike is not finished and have a few things left to get, I have installed my custom made chainring in the mean time, and may I add its looking swheet ,
  21. All depends what you define as reasonable. Me I would offer you a very reasonable offer of 2 packs of jelly tots and a box of smarties.. Nice frame.. Many happy miles is see coming
  22. i agree on those tyre combo, i'm so used to running my dry2, these tyres now seem to float over everything, grip around corners and make be believe i can conquer the world.. and im sure they will work better in the wet than my old tyres.. and as to learning from the best.... i'm still learning from the old man..
  23. Big H , I was thinking I needed a bigger set of wheels, but 2 things have happened that have totally changed that belief, and one was these set of wheels, it's really not about the size of your wheel that counts but what you do with it.... To be. A bit cliche
  24. Are you swearing at me... What is this twentie naainer thing I keep hearing about..
