    Shoes!

How large? Apparently they have up to a US13 / UK12. larger than that and you might be able to special order
  2. I also run 780mm boobars. and yes, i dig them
  3. Specs wise, the 15.4kg is made up of Alex SupraBH rims, 2.4 / 2.35 tyres, Rock Shox Sektor Coil U-turn with 15mm Maxle and Monarch RT3 high volume, Truvativ Boobars, DMR pedals, Truvativ Stylo cranks, X7 shifters / deraillers, Juicy 5 brakes So I take it 15.4 is on the porky side. I guess there's no budget method for saving weight? (unless I go on a diet)
  4. Ok I'm not a race snake or a weight weenie, but I was curious, so I put my bike (commencal meta 5.5) on the scale at the LBS - 15.4kg! What does your trail / all-mountain sled weigh in at?

    Shoes!

Pete, The Bike Shed at Contermans is stocking 5.10 now
  6. Nige, keen for Majik one of the days
  7. Chipping away at the fear 1 little jump at a time
  8. Thanks for the compliment, you ass
  9. This is the bottom part of that route, which is also part of the DH track
  10. this route is only 5km though. seems most of the US super D routes are longer. perhaps we should start a western cape superD series: contermanskloof, jonkershoek, majik forest, tokai
  11. yip, stupid you. though i only ended up doing this route once - then i did the downhill route a couple of times
  12. in the middle of that 5km route is one biatch of a climb... there's also some flat pedally bits at the top. this was my first run of the day - i took it really easy on the pedally bits (checking the scenery) and the climb took me a while
  13. Contermanskloof
  14. http://www.sports-tracker.com/#/workout/th3w3s/2fdhgql625rel769
  15. Yes if I had the time / money / opportunity I would be there in a Flash! YES SA NEEDS these sort of events! Super D, Enduro, and Downieville style races! Please!!
  16. Let's see if this makes a difference
  17. AFAIK most of the Meta 5.5s came with 140mm travel 'zocchis or Fox's
  18. I can't imagine how that must have felt. I dialled the sektor out to 150mm and almost immediately put it back to 140mm, that's how weird it felt
  19. Hank is officially an all-mountain rig. Performed admirably on the Conties DH track this weekend someone once referred to the meta 5.5 as a DH bike on a diet - they weren't far off
  20. yeah it was good fun - needless to say i took the chicken runs on the road gaps. I did hit the ski jump both times though Andrew Neethling was there as well, seeing him and some of his riding buddies blast those gaps was pretty cool
  21. I went, and ended up doing the DH track twice
  22. yip hopefully adidas can pump some of their experience and tech into 5.10 and vice versa
  23. bonus shots of my blue beast... I've named him "Hank"
  24. yeah i've done that little drop at the end of kloof - spits you into the berm and then up over the little mound... funnily enough i've done that on my hardtail, but never on my full suss
