  1. Conties is also steep as hell... I might hit the DH line 1 day, not without a full face though Taking the shuttle up and following all the singletrack down is a great super d / enduro / AM / whatever type ride, and the prospect of doing it a few times in a day is awesome... plus the trail includes the last bit of the DH track, so I may even attempt that 1 ski jump (not the gap jump, no thanks).
  2. then I ride this and I'm all good again...
  3. There's days I miss that bike...
  4. Ed and I go way back, he likes to make fun of me because I don't ride DH
  5. O no, it's the DH nazi
  6. I am , probably. Won't be riding down the DH line though
  7. night time DS would be awesome

  9. with. was actually 15.4
  10. From the top down we'll follow all the singletrack - starts off rocky and steep in places with steep switchbacks, then goes onto jeep track for a while, then some more rocky sections (not big rocks, just loose) with less steep switchbacks, then some long, flowing singletrack with a couple of flat pedally bits, a short, hard, singletrack climb in the middle, followed by "die kloof" which is a technical singletrack with a couple of optional jumps that forms the lower part of the DH track - after that it's out into the open, over the tabletop and on to the bike shed for the next run Cost is R90 for the day, I think, not 100% sure. Boerie rolls as well (get a free one as part of your fee) - shuttles from 10am to 2pm
  11. crow, banna, why don't you guys join me on sunday - i'll be doing the contermanskloof shuttle day, and will be riding the singletrack down (blue / green and "die kloof") as oppposed to following the nutters down the DH track... so it'll be an "aggressive trail" ride with a shuttle hoping to squeeze 2 or 3 runs in...
  12. my comment sparks further debate, o the irony
  13. I'm not really following this thread, I'm just surprised that it's almost 2012 and we've still got a thread titled 36" vs 29" running
  14. I use Lizard Skins knee guards, R320 from CWC http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/lizardskins-knee-body-armor
  15. weighed my bike this morning at LBS - 15kg
  16. Did I misunderstand you or did you make a typo? Did the guy actually tell you he stole it?
  17. I ride with 780mm boobars on my 5.5 inch travel 26er full suss so my vote is ride whatever's comfortable!
  18. It's true, CWC often has products on special for great prices (like the Fizik Gobi currently for R650). Pity for me their Continental Mountain Kings weren't on special.
  19. lol. ok. I do think I prostituted myself a bit, so I deserve the title of "tjop", then again, maybe i'm just making a big deal about nothing. I did immediately regret the decision though
  20. Think they'd give me some discount on that?

  22. Tomorrow I'm klapping the 30km at the Fair Cape Point Break. Hence the desperation to get rid of that lead weight, err, I mean 2.5 UST Maxxis High Roller, from the front wheel

  24. yea yea, I'm a tjop. I know it. I'll admit it. The second after I walked out the store I knew it. I've just got so much else going on today I couldn't be bothered. I had one of these moments: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MF2prAvcT3U
