  1. Grateful for the comment. Just wanted to clear my intentions here.
  2. Put me on the spot a little . I've taken part in this particular thread as a Niner fan and have no personal business agenda here. Frankly, anyone who is attempting to bring some great brands into the country deserves some kudos in my book. But, yeah, some tough competition out there. Given the brand and who I perceive as potential buyers, good frame set deals will succeed. Let's try offer kudos where deserved and some constructive criticism where needed. I'm sure the Niner SA lads will take note. All the best to the guys on their venture.
  3. I agree, the full builds are expensive but my statement referred to the prices being inline with the global prices of the brand. To achieve this alone Niner SA have done well. I do feel they'll do well to push frame set sales as these seem to offer more value against competitor offerings. The price points vs full build specs just don't add up to me I'm afraid.
  4. While we're steaming ahead on the skeptic train, this is probably the case for most professional sports. The pressure will always be there and boundaries will always be pushed. That said though, the UCI have done a lot to curb doping and have made huge inroads into making it extremely difficult (and potentially costly) to do so. This incident is a perfect example.
  5. Agreed. Can't help think they're missing the mark (or an additional considerable mark) not making framesets readily available...
  6. Great pic. Can actually visualize your state of mind - somewhere between admiring the bikes, admiring the scenery and contemplating what you've just ridden. Nice.
  7. Compare them to the prices on the U.S. site.
  8. I read the statement as simply saying that there is smoke (which there is - the syringe) and therefore there is fire (which there will be - the story behind the syringe). Whether the syringe was used to pump Stans into his tyres or Lesotho born blood cells into his arm - there is still a story...
  9. Assuming this is the frameset? frame and fork...
  10. Precisely why I will never sell my SIR9.
  11. The history is that rootbeer frame comes from me. Here's mine...
  12. It's a BB mounted chain guide being used as a tensioner. Can be tricky to setup and adjust but does look neat. Have a look on Diald Bikes website. They may have some.
  13. Do it!
  14. Midlands Dargle Road. Quiet. Nice shoulder. Beaut.
  15. They've arrived. Chunky Monkey 2.4 https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/153711-on-one-chunky-monkey-tyres/ Smorgasbord 2.25 https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/153713-on-one-smorgasbord-tyres/
  16. Kalbo will need to take a pic for you. The bike is his now. When I got it PYGA were struggling with the cable routing on the 110 (something they still battle with). It wasn't too much of an issue at the time as the normal frames were raw. Mine was painted and I didn't like the cables to close to the frame. So, yes, it's basically a cradle that lifts the cable(s) 2-3mm and then a clamp holding the cable in place.
  17. Yoh. Congrats on getting a bike, drive side against a white couch! Unless you're a bachelor and then it's totally understandable. Cool ride. More pics of it in action.
  18. Yip - off a BMC. I found they lifted the cable away from the frame quite nicely.
  19. Congrats. Looking forward to the finished product!
  20. Karkloof Road... Cannot beat a Midlands road ride.
  21. Tour de Krantz. First Classic in 3 years. Super morning out.
  22. Super ride to Terbodore. Beaut morning out on the Midlands.
  23. Bottles look a bit, um, snug...
  24. Where was it "found"? Looks like a commuter.
  25. Agreed. There are tons of these small brands available in Oz.
